Great choice on the Zeb Ultimate. I have tried a bunch of forks. I believe the Zeb Ultimate is the best out right now.
I weigh 100kg and run with zero tokens and 79psi. Just to give you a reference. I don’t do jumps or drops. Just hard fast riding flow trails with occasional chunk.
Less tokens means larger air chamber which means more air volume which equals more compressibility.
If you get the MegNeg upgrade later you can adjust both the positive and negative air volume.
I love my cushcores. Typical ride at 20 psi. I’ve ridden as low as 15 psi but find 20 psi is my sweet spot. It also adds some suppleness to the ride. Better grip, better sidewall support. You can ride back to the car with zero pressure. I’ve done it.
Once you’ve dialed in your rebound and still feel you need to reduce harshness… try installing cushcores. If you still need to reduce harshness… add a MegNeg can to your RS Deluxe. The large neg volume helps with suppleness.
I prefer Rockshock forks over Fox forks for big guys. My Fox factory forks tend to make a loud “clack” sound during aggressive descents. My several Rockshocks do not. Zeb I believe is the best fork out there for bigger guys.
Niner is a good brand. I had two custom built for my wife and myself. They’re both Niner Rip 9 RDO. They’re both analog. My wife’s was $4500 since it was built on a “new” 2017 frame. Mine is 2021 and was $10k. Yup… no motor. Because of the pandemic… I could only source top of the line...
I’m 6’2” and 230. I bought a Trek and Specialized and upgraded both forks to a boxxer and a Zeb. I say it’s a must for big guys. I had the Brose 1.3 motor and the Bosch CX Gen 2. I thought they were comparable in power and both had 500wh ‘ish battery and both lasted about the same… 2 + hours...
I bought an iPhone and Apple Watch in tokyo, Japan. I was surprised it was the exact same price in Arizona. Probably not price fixing..... just a coincidence. Maybe the same Apple Watch and iPhone is cheaper in London.
