Afternoon guys, over the last month my bike has started making a clunk/click noise when the motor is engaged and only when pedaling applying pressure going uphill.
I'm not the techy type so wondered if anyone could pass on advice as to what it may be?
Initially I've thought the freehub or...
Yeah I get that. I'm not hating on the bike, I love it. Was just surprised that mine gave up first. Im easily the lightest out of us three and the only one who stuck to eco most so that's why I mentioned it.
Being the only one on 27.5 wheels must have made the difference ??♂️ ?
Not yet, still saving ? I went out for a ride last week with a full battery on my 2021 SX. managed 46kms, prob about 70% in eco. Battery died about several km from home. My friends were on 2020 trek and merida, both had smaller batteries but plenty mileage left.
Hoping it was just the cold...
Not good to hear mate. What did you torque the crank arm to this time around? Did you use any threadlock on the bolts also? Mines has been good simce the initial re-torque ??
Thanks! I looked into new decals to cover the white ones but nobody makes them yet... Perhaps a project further down the line. I swapped out the Zeb decals for gold from SLIKgraphics and the chain was upgraded to a gold Sram xx1. Gold pins on the DMR vaults and gold collars on the deathgrips. As...
Yeah mate I read your initial reply about the torque process and hollowtech caps..thanks for that information. I'm going to take extra care sorting the crank as I don't want to ruin my rides worrying if it'll happen again.
I spoke to ethirteen about the issue and they were happy to help with...
Sooo... My left crank came off halfway up a mountain the other day despite tightening them up beforehand. Have lost the cap off the crank so quite annoyed.
From their own website. They don't have the 2021 kit so I bought the 2020 kit and had to modify to fit. Pain but worth it. The seat/chain stay sections all fit perfectly from the old kit but the rest needed modified. Took me best part of a day but glad it's done ??
Mine clicked eventually. I had to put my finger round the back of the cable and pull towards me a little whilst pushing the plug down. The push down connection has a small locking mechanism which triggers to prevent the plug coning out.
Thanks for getting back to me, I'll have another look soon as I've tried pushing hard but it doesn't seem to click down like I'd expect ??
*edit* gave it another look and got that reassuring 'click' I was hoping for!! Cheers
Just got mine today and setting it up. Quick Q, did the main plug inside the motor which connects the battery to the motor unit click together firmly with you or did it just push fit down? I'm not sure how easily it may pop off?
Rookie Q but the main plug connector from battery to motor... Is it just a push fit or should I be expecting to hear a 'click' if I pushed hard enough? Just doesn't feel very secure??
For me it comes down to your riding style. I'm only 5'8 and like the nimbleness and agility of the smaller wheels. The 29 inch wheels make the bike feel far too big for me! Obviously the 29ers have their positives but not enough to lure me in.
If you like flying down single track at speed...
