Welcome from another Vancouverite. Enjoy the bike (looking at adding an EXe to my Rail). You will love having the ebike cliimbing Fromme, Burke, Thornhill, Diamond Head ...
Thanks ... yes, likely DPB, but sometimes Duke Point depending on reservations as it's not much different to go to Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay from where we live. It wouldn't matter much on the Island side either. More planning to run out for part of a day from their place so was looking at not...
My in-laws live in French Creek and next time we head over was thinking of bringing the bike with me ... was thinking of Cumberland or Coombs, but is it worth it to head the little bit extra back towards Nanaimo?
No, usually not a problem to lift and load. It places pretty quickly so I'm not holding the bike for very long.
One of the reasons I went with it over the Kuat was that my wife has fenders on her commuter e-bike and if we want to take that with us when we go somewhere and I have my road bike...
Big fan of the Saris Superclamp (SuperClamp EX 2-Bike Hitch Car Rack) since you live in North America. Tends to be less expensive than either the Kuat and Thule.
Some of that does look crazy. Was our first time on Burke and not anxious to go into unmapped stuff that isn't on Trailforks without knowing the mountain;)
Very Shore like, but with a little more flow in those trails we rode at the end. Finishing up with GB and Flow was a great way to end the day!
@Stihldog, thought I'd resurrect this thread only because I finally did some riding in your backyard today. Started with Garbage, then rode Fluid, Ray Ray's, Green Bastard, and finished up with Fluid. That's about all my buddy on his 2004 era acoustic could manage in the heat.
Didn't love...
The minute you start putting e-bikes on racks, you have to limit your choices to those racks which take a 60lb bike. Those are limited and the ones you will find will only support e-bikes for the inner two. I have the Saris SuperClamp EX in the two bike version and think it's really good. The 4...
Welcome. Love my Rail 5. When I bought the only choice was the olive green, but nice to see more options for it. You'll love the bike but make sure to try the Mino-Link setting in both positions to find the one that suits you the best. Raising for me made a huge world of difference in my comfort...
Just thought I'd resurrect this because thinking of heading to Kamloops in a couple of weeks and just noticed that Sun Peaks not only allows e-bikes into the lift access bike park but actually rents Rocky Instinct Powerplay BCs.
Maybe that is a good omen for whatever they are planning on Grouse.
Congrats ... love the Norco and if I didn't need a removable battery (for storage security reasons) probably would have gone that way instead of the Trek Rail. Always good to see another rider from BC on here.
From the Lower Mainland and haven't been to the Island yet with the ebike (by my in-laws live north of Parksville so aiming to check out some of it when we're visiting at some point).
On Crown land, class 1 e-bikes are considered the same as any normal MTB (and the Levo is Class 1). Class 2 and...
Cypress used to have a lift access bike park before the Olympics but never re-opened it after. Would be great to see Grouse do something like that. Whistler is Whistler and operates in a completely different economic reality from the Lower Mainland hills. Grouse would likely base a decision on...
Another almost old fart here (57) from your neck of the woods. Just bought a Rail 5 a month or so ago and am getting back on the trails (haven't really ridden MTB for about 10 years now). Have to admit I am not quite yet completely comfortable and back at the skill level I used to be at, but am...
I thought the 1.2E was 60Nm not 50, but looking through some of the other threads it appears that. If it was just drivetrain, would be the Giant hands-down, esp with the auto mode and the better shifter. But, the Reign is a long bike and am wondering if the Kenevo would handle a bit better.
So I test rode the Reign E+ 2 Pro and was reasonably impressed with how good it felt and the motor was really good. Climbed a couple of steep hills that I usually feel on my road bike and it was so easy with the Reign.
I have found some 2019 Kenevo Comps at a great price (assuming that a...
Yea, I've moved on from the Stance or the Cannondale. Found a really good deal on a 2019 Kenevo Comp so now looking at that and the Reign on the theory that the motor will help overcome the more downhill nature of the bike on climbs but when I do ride DH, it will make a huge difference in terms...
I ride XC and mild to medium downhill (for those who know BC, I ride Burnaby Mountain level stuff). I was pretty into mountain biking at one point (weekly or more) but in the past few years have been riding a lot of road. A lot of the road riding is my work commute once/twice a week for about...
