Be wary of the vee attack, had 2. First one was fine but the second one had a wobble baked into the carcass that you could feel when riding - also incredibly hard to get the rimpact to fit, where with the Assegai it was a breeze. I think the Assegai is a lot more grippy as well.
Exactly this. nothing beats trying it for yourself. Heard countless 'best tyre ever - end of' type comments when in reality they could be riding in sand and rock with no moisture and you are in wet forests. Not saying NOT to listen to others, but as you say...
Heard a lot of good stuff about the Kryptotal and am intrigued. I was going to go Assegai when the current Vees need replacing but they are hard to get hold of. So the Kryptotal is a front tyre, equivalent to the Assegai? What would you pair it with on the rear? (My OCD would never allow me to...
Don't get me wrong, I've got the digital gauge from top peak, my mates tell me I'm anal about pressures but even I am ok dealing in single PSI as long as it is roughly accurate. It doesn't even matter if it isn't as long as it's consistent as once you've found your sweet spot it can read 500 psi...
This entirely. I can't believe I've read someone say you need to see tenths of PSI to get the right pressure 😁 sorry, not being rude but as someone pointed out, temperature alone can change your pressure by a whole psi.
I can just about feel the difference of 1 psi if you are talking around the...
I ride regularly on trails with leaf cover, I don't find it any more slippy than normal conditions tbh, the pressures I run (with inserts) and the aggressive tread on my tyres cope really well with that. Nobby NICs are a summer only tyre imo, anything moist and they are pretty useless.
You are the same weight as me (rider and bike).
Obviously, tyres will make a massive difference but on mine I'm running 24psi rear and 22 front (tubeless).
Had no issues, grip is excellent. Hope that helps, does sound to me you are running too high psi.
Can only speak for myself, I'm not gnarly or aggressive, don't do massive jumps just normal red and some black features and on the trails I don't notice it at all. On the ride from my house to the trails though, along tarmac paths, it's horrible and I can feel it 😁
Yeah, got the front rimpact in but just about broke my thumbs doing it. Walked away and will do the rear on Sunday. Watched a few more how to vids so hopefully will fare better. The Vee tyres feel like they are made of iron 😂
Further to this....😁...was doing some review reading, my tyres are pretty heavy and thick walled, I'm a bimbler so I didn't want to pay a premium for protection I don't need, but would like to run slightly less psi. Thought I'd go with the Nukeproof ARDs for just short of 50 quid, out of stock...
