Sadly, I think prices are only going to go one way, given where we are globally, and especially so if you live in the UK right now! I'm very grateful that I have the skills to be able to maintain my own stuff, in fact, I'm thinking about offering lessons to teach other people how to properly...
Blimey! First off, thank you and no worries. Secondly, where have you been? Hope all is well and there's no negative reason for the duration between posts?
Whilst I agree that their cheaper end forks are crap, so are Rockshox's, but we don't dismiss what's good just because of what's bad.
And you know that for a fact how..? I know that Tom rides a completely off the shelf model, becuase we have mutual riding mates and so I know there's nothing 'trick' or 'pro' about his forks. Do let me know who your source is for your info, 'cos I don't think they're particularly reliable.
Have you got photos?!? I was still riding fully ridgid then, I remember clearly when my mate got his first set of suspension forks for his bike, a whopping 50mm!
Some of those original Marzocchis, not many mind, are still going strong without a single service! They were built, for sure. The modern ones though, even the Rail damper version, is running on Fox hand-me-down architecture. The 34, on which it's based, is too flexy for ebike use, so they got...
Marzocchi are good but they're just old Fox tech. You get (most of) the best of Fox engineering but not the best of Fox tech, just look at the dampers. A good budget fork for sure, but you can get a lot better performance for the money, especially if you shop around a bit. That said, some good...
So your one quote means Suntour Durolux isn't worth riding? Geez, you are determined, I'll give you that.
OP: I work on MTB suspension, it's how I earn my living. I teach suspension mechanics at a school that is putting out the most highly qualified mechanics in Europe. Try the Durolux, it's...
Also, apologies to the OP, all I did was offer an alternative to the mainstream. A genuine alternative that I have ridden and rate, despite working indirectly for a different brand. And that's using my experience of riding since the late 70s. I would strongly urge you to read some proper reviews...
Nice try at being a Dick, but I won't bite. You have any opinion you want, just understand that it doesn't make you right. Can't help but notice you use no facts or data to support you, just calling names. Get back to the playground...
