B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

Right an update then....drum roll....I found the problem! I bought a hanger alignment tool and so as I was backing out the mech bolt to remove it I glimpsed the mech rotate....hmm that wasn't right I thought. Turns out that the mech was binding on the hanger bolt when done up tight and of...

B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

Yeah the alignment mark isnt far off but it does say '51' which of course mine isnt (its a 50) but I wouldnt think it would make much difference. Plus I'm still not sure it explains the reason for the screw being backed right out. Chain is deffo on the chainring correctly, it wont sit on the...

B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

Why would one want lateral movement on a part that I would have thought would want to be as slop-free as possible for accurate engagement/alignment? I've ordered a tool, I'm not giving up until I find the reason for this. I will update with what I find!

B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

Both jockeys are 13t, same as the OE ones I took off. Yeah as much as I hate to admit it I agree, hanger really needs to be checked to be able to rule it out. I'm OCD with clouting the derailleur but who knows.

B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

Cheers for your thoughts. I did check the chain with another checker I have (my last one was shite) and it's not registering 0.5 wear yet. The cassette seems in really good order too - I think theres about 1700 miles on it now but the bike rarely sees water or mud tbh. And, I can get it to shift...

B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

I have been struggling with my shifting recently and it seems something is wrong somewhere because even with my B screw backed right out the distance between the jockey and the cassette is still a little too big I believe. Whether it's enough to cause the problem I have I'm not convinced but...

So, did you keep or sell your non eMTB? Any regrets?

I love the extent of engineering that went into that dropper :D

Full Face - When do you decide to wear one?

I'd have to agree, I wore my IXS Trigger FF all day in the stifling heat of a Morzine summer and it seemed no more hot/bulky/heavy than my Fox Speedframe. These modern FF lids like the Trigger and Proframe are simply amazing and so light. In true Dad-speak, there really is no excuse for not...

    Rockshox spares in the UK

I am fairly confident that a generic nylon stepped washer could be obtained quite easily from a decent online hardware supplier. This isn't a critical part, it's just to prevent, at the most, a very low pressure oil leak. I'm happy to look for one if someone can provide all the dimensions.

    Women’s XS e? Mtb

I recall someone on here buying a Trek Powerfly FS4 for their Mrs, it struck me how small it was and the standover was really low. Worth looking at.

    Accidentally purchased illegal ebikes?

Not sure whether it may help, but the DVSA are hammering ebike retailers who don't make it clear that their ebikes are not compliant for public use. Theres been about 7 prosecutions recently, one of whom got an £18k fine, plus the company had to recall all of the bikes they sold. Might be worth...

Unanswered Dual Purpose tires (MTB & Road)

I use Schwalbe Johnny Watts on the rear of my bike during the summer months. Super happy with it. I do have a 2.8 rear so that may be helping though. Been fine for forest/trail light off road stuff. The Maxxis DHR only goes on if I'm hitting a specific bike park or in the sloppier months but I...

Unanswered GoPro footage editing. Free and for beginners.

I use GoPro Quik on my phone. Been using it for years and yes it has bugs but I recently subbed (about £10 or £15 a year) and it seems a lot more stable now. It's just the easiest and quickest way to knock up a short vid. Long stuff is waay too intensive for a phone. If you do use Quik, heres a...

Unanswered Yari Charger upgrade reduce stiction?

Cheers for that Doug. I must admit, I do have a feeling I will end up with the Charger, but I think I am going to do the SKF seals first just to see how it goes. Good to hear the Yaris felt really good to you with both items done though, it re-assures me that I won't end up having to get another...

Unanswered Yari Charger upgrade reduce stiction?

Hmm trying each lower at a time without a wiper seems like a good shout actually. Will give that a go cheers. Interesting re the wiper info, sounds like I will go with the SKF. I am sure they must be good enough that if theres still issues then I need to be looking somewhere else. Thanks.

Unanswered Yari Charger upgrade reduce stiction?

Yeah no tokens, 30% and very little damping is soffffffttt but yes for most of the year the bike doesnt get hammered at all really. I think I will deffo try the wipers first, have you any opinion on SKF Vs Push?

Unanswered Yari Charger upgrade reduce stiction?

Rings were well soaked. Lips greased. Yes both rods extended (I think I checked by pulling the lowers to full extension after) air cap last. Zero tokens, compression full open, not sure on rebound but I think its either fully open or a few clicks. Will check. No idea on air pressure, will check...

Unanswered Yari Charger upgrade reduce stiction?

When the 180 went in, around 150 miles ago. Bear in mind around 400 of those miles have been road/light trail. Its irrelevant anyway cos the stiction has felt the same since wheeling the bike out of the store to how it is now.

So you're saying the stiction is coming from the air side and nothing to do with the damper side....?! Oh gawd its gets deeper..
