I had problems with those bolts corroding on a Jam. Small parts like that you'll only get from a dealer. In the past, I have used Ash at Northern Ride for a £3 charge port cover. They order direct from Focus & offered me either £25 postage direct from Germany or hang on a fortnight & Focus would...
Not sure it would kill the experience, depending on how you ride. The bigger the chainrinmg, the harder the effort obvs but a Sam is an enduro rig, so at a guess, it;s generally heading downhill & a 36 shouldn't be the end of the world. Reckon it comes down to what you need from the bike.
Just looked up the Focus archive for a 2022 Sam 6.8. They don't say specifically but mention 34 tooth & Deore XT 12 speed, so it's likely the same but if you can remove yours, the spec will be stamped on it.
This is what I have for the Jam, it doesn't show clips but you can see sleeves & the cable plug, items 15 & 28. Might be that it's stiff from running through the chainstay. Guess there's no substitute for getting eyes on it.
The Jam runs it out of the back of the seat tube base & into the chain stay, the Sam will be v similar. My guess is it's clipped in above the motor to stop cable rub. The motor drops out with six bolts, if you can't free it off, I'd do that.
Anyone have a list of frame bearings or know of an accurate kit? I'm swapping out but would rather do it in one go than remove them individually to work out what I need. The trails are calling and all that.
I feel I should know this but I can't work out if my 2021 Jam2 has walk mode. In the manual, it says press the walk assistance button - I haven't got one of those on my Kiox or the controller. Walk would be handy for lubing the chain, so do I have it on my bike?
Mine is worn & will need replacing soon. Does anyone know what offset is on the factory fitment? I see 52 & 55mm options. I'm guessing 55mm for a boost 12spd bike but want to check before buying. Cheers.
Measure your current fork steerer from the top of the fork brace to your stem cap & you'll have a good idea of what you need, keeping in mind you can leave it over long & add spacers to allow you to move your bars up or down to suit. or cut it flush for s sleek look.
There's not many right or wrong answers for fork upgrades other than to get the correct steerer tube & axle spacing. On your current fork, the steerer tube will be 1 1/18" tapered & the axle spacing is boost 110x15mm. After that, it's up to you what you want from a fork. Travel, offset...
Were they always like this or has it come on? If the latter, it does sound like air is getting in & if so, they need a proper overhaul. if it's the former, look up advancing pistons on SRAM brakes, long lever throw can be a thing with them & it's easy to cure.
Either way, do get it sorted -...
I thought it was just mine! I've found the torque on the seat clamp bolt affects the seat post heavily. Now I nip up the bolt as little as I can get away with, just enough to stop the thing rotating.
