OK, did some research and found my answer re passive bms li-Ion battery systems and charging. I don't know how relevant this is to our e bike systems. It does answer my e unicycle question.

I have a shimano system - e8000 with 504wh battery. I was wondering if these use a passive or active bms? Also, does anyone know the best charging routine for a battery pack (made up of 18650 cells) with a passive bms - it's in an e unicycle.

Do you have a need to update? Like ms, google, apple etc etc; all of their updates serve their own purposes. Sometimes they may be needed, not often. Then it's like taking western medicine to fix something - there's also a cost to your health.

DHRII? I think the problem you'll find with higher volume tires like that is that they have lighter sides to try and keep the weight down. After saying that, what about the Schwalbe Eddy Current? I don't think they try to keep the weight down on it :)
