Not sure where Im at in the virus stakes, I got a Merida 900e when I was injured about 18 months ago, loved it, still really like it , but I recovered, got fitter and mostly ride with non e bikers and ego makes me ride my giant trance... havent ridden my ebike this year Im almost ashamed to...
I am 185cm, riding an XL 900e, very happy and comfortable on the X large chassis. I went this way a few years ago after borrowing an xl giant trance and realising i preferred it to my L. Its a bit trickier in tight stuff but more stable on the fast downhill stuff. I feel its more comfortable...
I have DI2, it definately requires a degree of mechanical sympathy with gear changes as well as predicting your gear changes in advance. I find the gear changes pretty harsh in boost, and try not to...if i need an emegency power shift gear change ill generally try and hit the next power level in...
If you look around you can get the E900 way cheaper than listed. My 19 was in the low 6 " es.(in OZ) I know the e trance if you can find one is being sold in the high 5s . The fox 36s and zee brakes are fine pieces of equipment, I rate the brakes as the best Ive used, and is making me go into...
I have a merida 900e and have ridden the 19 e-trance.. Both good and similar price point, yamaha motor note slightly lower pitch. I prefer the shimano display. Maybe the yamaha is a bit more powerful.
The Giants battery set up is aesthetically nicer.. I think the merida needs an update in the...
Another Dumb Question /Observation. The E8000 controller is very bright. Great during the day, but would be too bright if doing a night ride. Can it be subdued ?- does make the E7000 controller look more attractive from the night ride point of view.
Dumb question: The E8000 selector does not have a menu button/switch , so the menu selector is the small button on the controller?
And on the E6000 selector the 3rd selector button is a little more convenient to use rather than the small button (on the controller)?
I have the shimano saint pedals on my e-bike.Id just got the bike and they threw them in at cost. Im a long term clipless guy, having used time pedals since around 2000 and shimano spd prior to that.
Id occasionally used jet black flat pedals on my sons bike, but jumps feel bizarre to me when...
Oh -that's interesting that you get 32km/hr in NZ. Is speed controlled by the controller or is there a chip in the motor??
I'm told the '19 versions of the 800 will only be available in dec. In Australia., and the 900 in October. XL frames a '19 thing apparrently
Just wanting to get an idea on what people are using on their emtb's?
I normally set up at around 30% front and rear on a normal bike.
Im 50 Y/O trail rider with a half wrecked body from too many mx injuries, so I err towards to the plush end of the spectrum esp. for the front.
My newly...

Ive been lurking for a little while, but got a Merida 900e XL this week. Im a longterm mtn bike rider (since the lates 80s..) as well as enduro and mx. Great info on this forum, ultimately a great deal $ wise sent me to the Merida, done around 100km this week , and its great. Loving...
