If its off the football pitch its probably either Whiters, or a trail built years ago by downhill racing legend Charlie Hatton not sure if that one is still in commission tho.
Unfortunately not. work already started, I went up to move all of our digging kit to a safer location but couldn't find it, shame as it looks like we will need it according to Forestry England!!!
At the moment they are cutting slightly right of the trails but will be moving across 3 4 and 5, the no entry signs are at the start of the trails and the end points.
Good stuff, I'm 64 and still trying to send it! So you have a good few years left yet. Perhaps not sending it quite as far but having fun. Also been building some step ups in the FOD in my retired time!
The Forestry Commission have started cutting on Staple Edge a couple of weeks ago, Wookies and Heckler were trashed a week ago so not sure what else is gone now!
Looking at No 5 in the list of FC Community commitments which I have pasted below,
I'm not sure the FC will be willing to 'tolerate' a lot of the trails that currently exist, as the 'Wild trail and desire Line Management' document they will want trail builders to adhere to...
Yes, thats it, 5 starts to the left of the start point of 3 and 4. its got a bit of work to finish it but as two out of the three of us now have Kenos there much more riding than maint. being done!! I think the trail you're talking about is called Whiter's (1) Have you ridden any of the trails...
Sounds good, although even on the Kenevo i can't enjoy Dr Johns (the first section is good tho) Was Dowies very wet? Hoping to get up this week to do a bit of maint and finish off D5
Ha possibly, although there are a lot of Kenevo riders in the Fod these days, I know 9 riders with them (including Dowie himself:) I've had mine a couple of weeks so have been spending a fair bit of time riding there recently as opposed to maintaining which is definitely more fun.
Hi All, just joined the forum, would be keen to ride but can't make Sunday, I'll look out for the next one. Glad some of you seem to have been to Dowies me and two friends built Dowies 3 4 and 5 so know the area well. Hopefully catch up soon.
