Shimano EP6 / EP801 with PearTune or SpeedBox

Thxs for the info on the differences between eMax & ePlus software. My EP6 is out of warranty and I don't plan on rolling back to a class-1 eMTB. I have looked at the eMax website, but they don't have any information on their software works with a EP6/EP801 motor. I may download the eMax...

Shimano EP6 / EP801 with PearTune or SpeedBox

Yep that is a Shimano EP6/EP801 fact, if the motor detects any oddity in the rear wheel sensor and you will get the E295 error:/ I was using a PearTune for the EP6/Ep801 and had the E295 error a couple of times, so I when with the ePlus flash software and converted the EP6 into a class-3 28mph...

    800 mm wide Bars….!!🤦🏼‍♂️

I use 760mm on my all-mtn eMTB and 780mm on the DH/BP eMTB, to some 20mm wider different may not feel like a big deal of different. Not to change the HB discussion, but I have started using 55mm risers on both my eMTBs and that made a big different in ride feel. Some trails in my area with the...

Did you ever try using ePlus app on your EP8?

3 crashes in 3 weeks... and we're going again

Well I don't see any eMTB in your garage, so maybe it a sign that you need to get an eMTB

Comment by 'Mr-EPIC-3' in article 'The most reliable motor brand (in Norway)'

This is a good poll data, but I think you should on the next poll add Miles/Elev/Mode/Rider Weight. I have friends that ride around in Turbo/Boost 80% of the ride time and have had issues with their motors. I ride in ECO/Trail mode 80% (I only use Boost when racing:)) and have had no issues, I...

    Lack of EP6 tuning parts

Yea, my bad, no real world experience with Orbea eMTBs. Glad I when with the Husky eMTB🤓

    Lack of EP6 tuning parts

I don't have a Orbea Rise, so not an issue taking the motor cover off on my Husky MC-5. But from what I am seeing on the Orbea website looks like you will have to drop the EP6 motor out of the frame:/

    Lack of EP6 tuning parts

It's not the drive-side and you don't have to remove the crank arms, just turn the crank arm facing down. remove the 3 philip screws it's vary easy if you know how to use a philip screwdriver:)

    Lack of EP6 tuning parts

Here a diagram that I created, could help. Other thing you could do is join a eMTB group and I am sure there is someone in the group who would know how to install the PearTune module:)

    Lack of EP6 tuning parts

It's the same wire diagram, rear wheel sensor plugs into the PearTune and the PearTune plugs into the port that the rear wheel sensor was plugged into:)

You should have gone a install guide with the PearTune device. But let me find my install guide and I will send over a photo of it.

You could ask them if they have tested with 4.3.

Suggestions on when to change chain and chainring

With my Microshift 9-speed drivetrain, I swap out the chain every 1200 miles and 2400 on the cassette, so 2 chain for every cassette.

Loam wolf 2024 emtb shoot out.

I like the fact that they broken the test up into price category, so they compare the eMTB's with the similar level of spec. Not everyone wants to or has the budget for a 6K+ eMTB:/

    E-Bike racing

Yep I have race in eDuro and eXC races, haven't try eDH yet. eDuro race tracks are always fun, but eXC is funner as you get the mass starts and way more racing action with other racers. Just wish the eXC tracks had a little more tech added to them😁

    Shimano EP801 code E914

On my Marin Alpine E-1 every 800 miles I remove the battery from the downtube, wipe down the battery and the downtube compartment electronics cleaner, spray connection cleaner on the battery connection points and the battery mounts. A lot of times battery errors are related to dirt and moister...
