Levo Gen 3 Charge Limit doesn't work anymore

Don't bother asking. The answer is that they are working on a fix. Can't be more than a one day job but they are taking forever and so it must be the lowest priority for them. As a former mechanical engineer and also a programmer of CADCAM software for over 10 years I'd personally be so...

Levo Gen 3 Charge Limit doesn't work anymore

I had no idea there were two apps and have always only had the Mission Control app which they did recently update with the 80% charging feature. I guessing again, but probably both of them have this issue. I will download the Specialized app anyway so I at least have 10 80% charges. Not sure...

Levo Gen 3 Charge Limit doesn't work anymore

So to be clear the app works for SL but the new 80% charge feature has a bug that makes it stop working. Everything else works. I'm not sure but I imagine this 80% charge issue is a problem with app not any specific motor. But I do know it's an issue with my 2021 SL.

Levo Gen 3 Charge Limit doesn't work anymore

No they told me yesterday by email that they are still working on it. The app online is dated back in August so it has not been updated yet. Reloading it will probably get it to work for a while I imagine and I might try that too. Sort of like what a reset does, but temporary.

Levo Gen 3 Charge Limit doesn't work anymore

Yes they did add it and it typically works for a while. I think mine might have worked for 10 rides at which time it's designed to do ONE 100% charge for battery health and then should go back to 80%...which mine, and many others (maybe all), didn't do. Specialized acknowledges there is a...

Levo Gen 3 Charge Limit doesn't work anymore

Looks like the reset isn't a lasting fix and I expect there will be an update someday.

Levo Gen 3 Charge Limit doesn't work anymore

This was such a great feature for the 1st 10 charges and now my 2021 expert carbon sl charges to 100%. I'm not going to do the reset since it seems that's necessary every 10 charges. Spec has had plenty of time to fix this simple feature and yet nothing yet. Why the delay??? Just contacted...

    2021 Lyrik Ulitmate crush washers

I recently did a lower leg service on my Lyrik fork and didn't find any crush washer used as shown in the Rockshox parts diagram. The air shaft side didn't have any washer and the damper side had a large 8mm washer that was not the thicker smaller OD crush washer. I looked at this video...

Levo SL Gen 1 Lightest sl levo builds

OK, guess I'll start. 38 lbs. Expert Carbon, magnesium flats, CF bars, X01 cassette and CF Specialized rims with 29"x2.6" Specialized stock tires, Lyrik ultimate forks and DVO shock but currently running the stock FOX Grip2 and dpx2 shocks so slightly heavier. Hard to go much lighter than...

    Mahle SL 1.1 to SL 1.2 - What's Possible and What's Different ?

Wow they list the motor. So with the TCU and any wiring changes and crank arms if not included might be more like $2500. USD. I guess that's one way NOT to offer it, price it way too high, lol. Unless you DIY, add some more for labor although I would DIY. I've swapped a warranty frame out on...

    Mahle SL 1.1 to SL 1.2 - What's Possible and What's Different ?

I did look into buying a new sl with the 1.2 motor at about $8k plus tax and then swapping some higher end components from my 2022 expert carbon bike. I think the net cost to just get a bit more torque and quieter was at least $4-5K (and the hassle of trying to sell my older bike), just not...

DT ratchet teeth 54T vs 36T vs stock 18T for ebike

Yes I stuck with the more expensive DT Swiss 54t and have been using that one for about a year now and like it's quicker engagement.

Levo SL Gen 1 Official Levo SL Thread

I would worry about overheating with any external sound insulation. I suspect the straight cut gear design and/or gear materials changed to lower the noise a lot. Adding things like silicone and teflon to the plastic gear can help a lot. And also designing a gear with a much higher AGMA...

Comment by 'sdcoffeeroaster' in article 'What's new in the 2023 Shimano emtb line-up?'

Missed that somehow, thanks. I guess then it's fair to just say the Shimano makes no claim that they redesigned anything to eliminate the clunk. And since I don't think they've ever acknowledged the "clunking" they probably expect potential buyers to ignore it or buy something else, which I...

Comment by 'sdcoffeeroaster' in article 'What's new in the 2023 Shimano emtb line-up?'

No mention of elimination of that clunk the motor makes under no load/downhill, more noticeable in some frames than others. That would probably take a major design change Shimano is not ready to do yet and they really have not acknowledged it anyway. It's a feature, lol!

Levo SL Gen 1 The Reason for delay in 2023 Levo SL...(and various other discussions on lightweight bikes......)

Companies drag their feet for the obvious reason that the product is not finished yet, has issues they are working out and/or might not meet spec. Marketing will always try to push hardest for the earliest release in spite of this depending on how well they understand technical issues. It...

Levo SL Gen 1 Can hear a dry sort of whistling sound from my Sl motor when back pedaling

I just noticed this today on my 2021 Sl Expert with about 1500 miles on it. When I backpedal there's a dry sort of whistling sound coming from the motor. I just noticed this while lubing my chain and not pedaling. It's pretty consistent and not really loud but noticeable. I think I would...

Levo SL Gen 1 The Reason for delay in 2023 Levo SL...(and various other discussions on lightweight bikes......)

Yeah there's that saying, "don't fix what isn't broken". I now have 1400 trouble free miles and very happy with how my "sewing machine sounding" motor has performed. I really have adapted to the sound and it's really not that offensive. If Specialized should come out with a new quieter one...

Levo SL Gen 1 The Reason for delay in 2023 Levo SL...(and various other discussions on lightweight bikes......)

It's all related and rpms of course will make any gear set louder but especially straight cut gears. About 20 years ago I worked on noisy gears used in a medical device. They were silicone and teflon impregnated acetal (delrin) gears that initially were designed with only a 4-6 agma rating...

Levo SL Gen 1 The Reason for delay in 2023 Levo SL...(and various other discussions on lightweight bikes......)

Yeah I saw those and did try them but my helmet strap was about an inch from the side of my face rendering it ineffective. Growing your hair long on the sides works too. But I found the first ones I had, Rexton BiCore sat too high and these Philips are more in back and the noise reduction...
