    Shimano e8000

I will but it can take a while before I'll install it. I don't have much time at the moment and it looks like that's not going to change anytime soon... According to the track & trace the motor will arrive later today :)

    Shimano e8000

The eBay motor is already on the way (from Germany). Patience is not always one of my strengths I regret to say :)

    Shimano e8000

That is a positive message indeed (y) Although I think it will be an exception to have a three year old motor replaced for free. Sadly my bike is beginning to develop E010 errors... First time that happened was in september 2021, turning the bike off and on again several times gave no result...

    BT-E8016 external battery.

I was wondering if anyone with a frame size S has installed the (external) 630Wh battery? (eOne-Sixty 900 2018, the red one :) ). With the OEM Rock Shox Deluxe shock this will cause interference when fully compressed, but are there any piggyback shocks that don't interfere? Or is the only option...

    Unanswered (free)hub reliability?

If I were to buy a new set of wheels for my e-mtb... which hubs are good (or the best...) for e-bike use and which ones are better left in the shops? Recently many freehubs are getting more POE's (points of engagement), which is good for reducing the free stroke before the hub engages. But...

Post your Merida eMTB pics here!

Recently I changed the original Lyrik RC fork for a DVO Diamond. I couldn't get the Lyrik to my liking on fast (brake)bumps. Maybe it's because I'm not to heavy at 70kg's (too much HSC) or maybe I don't know enough about setting up suspension. Or maybe I just didn't have enough patience :)...

Not sure, it was still the original set of pads so probably worn something like halfway. In the front I use organic/resin pads, in the rear metal pads.

Dropper post hose through the frame

You need to completely unscrew the small screw on the picture. Then you can take the clamp out and it'll be a lot easier to get the cable/hose through the frame ;)

Post your Merida eMTB pics here!

My second trip to the Alps with the Merida is already history again... This year I did a six-day tour through Piemonte, which is in the north-west part of Italy. It was an organized trip, our bags were transported with a van and the routes, sleeping and eating was al taken care of. We had the...

    Official Merida eOne-Sixty thread

Correct: Shimano four pot brakes use a short banjo bolt. If you've got these you can leave the hoses on the bike and mount the Zee calipers and levers. The only cables that run through the bars are the electric ones. There's a hole under the grip, and one under the stem. There are rubber bands...

    Official Merida eOne-Sixty thread

That mud flap comes with the bike, it did with mine. A mud guard for the front fork was also included when I bought mine, and a pair of lights (simple ones, with batteries).

    Answered BIKE WORK STAND

I used a Feedback Ultralight stand for many years and was perfectly happy with it. Untill I bought an e-mtb... :) The Feedback won't break, but it's not stable with that kind of load. So I sold it and bought a Parktool PRS-25 instead and that really is a stable workstand, even with 23kg's in...

Answered Brakes question can anyone help

On this pic you can see that the caliper has an angle compared to the disc mounts on the fork. So if you don't use the conical washers the bolts will take a "bending" force when you tighten them.

My process and priorities for choosing my emtb. Yours?

In random order, but all important criteria to me: - Geometry, not only sizes and angles that influence riding, but also fitting. - Testing possibilities are very limited where I live (The Netherlands), unlike in some other countries. So reading reviews (and interpreting them) was important. -...

Answered Brakes question can anyone help

You do need those conical washers on the outside of the Shimano adapter. If you don't use them the force on the bolts will not be straight (don't know how to describe this better, English isn't my native language ;)). Sram uses these conical washers on both sides so the caliper can not only be...

Unanswered New to mtb's trying to understand tyre/wheel size

One thing to consider if you should want to go a little less wide is the ground clearance. If your pedals are already hitting the ground often I would certainly keep the 2.8 tires and not go to smaller sizes. Apart from that it's personal preference which tire size suits you best.

Unanswered HELP! Major issues installing an M520 calliper on an M8000 lever...

I'm glad that your problem is solved, but I don't understand how the barb can cause such a problem. There are two kinds of Shimano hoses, "old" and "new". The old ones use the gold colored barbs, the new ones use the silver ones. The difference is a slightly other internal diameter of the...

    What ya riding? Pictures thread!

Motorcycles allowed too? ;) I still have mine, but haven't touched it for five years I think... :( No room to keep it at my place, too little time to work on it or ride it. It's a 1986 SRX-6 and I am the first and only owner. Put almost 100.000km's on it and I still think it's a beautiful bike...

How do you carry your spare Shimano Battery

Very happy with the Evoc e-bike specific backpack. It's not a small pack, but comfortable to wear. The battery has a compartment with a strap so it won't move around even if the rest of the pack isn't full. I did have an Ergon BA3 backpack (with protector) before I bought an e-mtb but I found...

Merida eone sixty 900 rims - tubeless ready?

The green tape is not meant to be used in a tubeless setup, you were lucky with one wheel ;) I used 40mm yellowtape, that fits perfect and I had no problems with setting up tubeless. First I tried it with narrower tape overlapping, but that didn't work on one wheel so after that I decided to...
