That's what I did. Now trying to figure out a way to carry it on the bike.

    12v Car chargers?

Are these chargers OK with modified sine wave AC (which is what you'd get for that price)?

    Wheelies

I have been doing nearly all my wheelie practice uphill from the start. I can barely get the wheel off the ground going downhill, with all the extra weight on it. I tried for a long time to do it on regular mountain bikes and failed. The extra power afforded by the ebike is my only hope of...

    Wheelies

I thought I could get around the clutch issue by pedaling with the brakes on prior to starting the wheelie attempt, then releasing them. Unfortunately, if I brake hard enough to keep my speed under 3 MPH, the assist cuts in and out randomly, making any start from there highly nondeterministic.

    Wheelies

I did video myself on the old (non-e) hardtail. My arms are fully extended at the zenith and remain fully extended as the bike pulls me forward and down. In the low gears it acts more like I'm in too low a gear (spin out), in the higher gears it acts more like I'm in too high a gear, but I...

    Hardwiring Lights to E8000

Document this as thoroughly as possible and submit it as a bug report to Shimano. The calculations aren't that complicated, they just did them wrong.

    Wheelies

On the pedal bike, I simply don't produce enough torque to get the front wheel up more than a foot on level ground, even when my timing is spot on. When it isn't, the front wheel barely leaves the ground at all. In all cases, the wheel is on the ground again by the bottom of the first pedal...

    Hardwiring Lights to E8000

This doesn't add up. 504 WH battery at between 20% and 40% charge, and it wants to save it all for 40 minutes of 12 watt light? It should have at least 100 WH left, and the light should take a max of 8 WH.

Should we be ethic worried about e-bike / batteries?

Hopefully they take them apart to see what went wrong with them. Then recycle.

Should we be ethic worried about e-bike / batteries?

More concerned about the lead-acid battery in my car, and the ones my solar panels are hooked up to. Lithium-ion batteries are relatively benign.

Pivot Shuttle, 154# rider, 504wh battery. 59,44,29 miles according to the RANGE indicator. After 15 miles, 2000' climbing in Trail mode, RANGE shows 29,21,14. Battery half empty. Indicated range is wildly optimistic. I live in the mountains. Spare battery is on backorder since July, with...

    Battery problem after charging.

What brand? Most are supposed to be splashproof, would seem like a warranty issue even if it was caused by rinsing the bike off.

Maybe water got into the battery management circuitry in the battery. What kind of battery was it?

Modified Sinewave Inverter to Power Shimano Charger?

The inverter I have is a Trace 1512 which puts out 1500 watts. I'm sure that is enough for the Shimano EC-E6000 charger which draws 2.5 amps at 100-240 volts, but it is MSW.

Modified Sinewave Inverter to Power Shimano Charger?

Will the Shimano EC-E6000 charger be happy being powered with modified sinewave or does it need a pure sinewave? How much power does it use starting up?
