My latest ride in the White Tank Mountains Regional Park. The rear tire is getting close to needing a replacement. It has 565 miles on it so maybe another 50 left to go. It’s a soft compound Schwalbe Albert so I expected a shorter life in our dry/rocky conditions. What kind of mileage...

Good thing you weren’t carrying pick-a-nic baskets. Yogi and crew may have been more interested in you.

What did you do to your EBike this week?

I may have to look into that misting fan. Our garage was 92* yesterday and we haven’t even hit the constant triple digit days yet. I realize it won’t be as great as a/c but I’m too “thrifty” to pay the electric to cool the garage.

There was a siting about a month ago of one in a neighborhood less than 1.5 miles (as the crow flies) from my place. Most of my riding is up around Lake Pleasant, the White Tank Mountains and Cave Creek areas. It’s unlikely I’ll run across a cougar but it would suck since I usually ride alone.

How far is “just south”? I’d prefer not to run across them or their cousins during a ride in the valley. Although, unless I drag myself out of bed super early, I may be parking the bike now that we’re probably going to be in triple digits for quite some time.

I use this on the fork, shock and dropper post sliders. Apply a little, rub it around, compress the fork/shock a few times and wipe off excess with a microfiber cloth.

    New to EMTB’s!

Definitely get a good helmet, that's not a place you want to skimp-on. Reminds me of the saying when I rode motocross, "if you have a $10 head get a $10 helmet". You may want to look into knee and/or elbow pads as well OH, and gloves, mtb shoes...$$$$$... You're in now, there's no turning back!

That climb definitely calls for Turbo! You might want to make sure Overrun is turned up as well. Good luck!

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Ordered a Fox lower leg rebuild kit. I’ve got 880 miles on the original seals and oil so it’s a bit overdue for some new fluids.

Help with bike frame sizing please.

I’m 5’-9” (175 cm), 165lbs (75kg) and almost 64. I’m on the border of those two sizes as well. However, I have long legs and arms and a shorter torso. The Specialized website has a fitting guide where you can enter some measurements other than just height to help you out. My long legs bumped me...

Finally, a government plan that's useful. Where do I sign up for my bikes, broads, brats and booze? 😁

I understand your plan but from my observations, it’s not going to work. I live very close to four large “fossil farms” and I see these silver-haired (little jealous since nature took most of my hair) corvette pilots all of the time. They’ll cruise along at or below the speed limit which becomes...

What did you do to your EBike this week?

I changed the chain stay length from stock (short) to long on my Gen 4 Levo. I didn’t think I’d notice a difference however, it was more stable on the downhills, helped keeping the front wheel down on steeper climbs as well as keeping the front tire more planted in corners. Today was the first...

38’s on my bike would be the equivalent of a retired man buying a Corvette. Neither will ever be used to it’s potential. Plus, it took months for me to pry open my wallet to buy an emtb in the first place. Look up “tight-wad” in the dictionary, that’s my picture you’ll see. :ROFLMAO:

It doesn’t matter. Springs are not damaged by being left in a compressed state. Springs wear out through repeated compression and decompression cycles.

Hi everyone, I’m new to riding an eMTB. I hope to get tips and tricks from you all. In November I bought an REI CO-OP DRT e3.1 that was half off

Nice bike but you can keep the mud. I rode through western Washington slop for 35 years and if I never see it again, it’ll be too soon. Enjoy your bike!
