Apart from my ELEMNT holder shearing off, the only thing that hurt was my pride. Thankfully no-one was around to witness 3 dumb falls on the same hill! I'm going to nail that SOB when the trail dries. Looking forward to the next one...and figuring out the identity of the familiar first group...
Apologies! Now I need to figure out who I was chatting to who I met on the very first ride. That's the problem with wearing full face helmets; everyone looks the same! ?
No confusion with you. Jet set was taking a separate ride later with other mates (as if!?) so it was just coincidence I saw him. It was my prob entirely that I got separated and think I ended up following an entirely different group! I think you need to hold up some special EMTB Forums umbrellas...
Good point @steve_sordy about the 'special fitting' for the short cable. Thankfully I was shown by my local bike shop. My question regarding this is why don't they provide a closing magnetic thingummy (not sure what it's called) to seal it off when not in use? Seems like it could be prone to...
Now this Focus looks like an excellent one for the wishlist with the option of a free demo:
Focus Jam2 6.9 Drifter 2019 Full Suspension Electric Mountain Bik £4,499.99
Anyone tested it or any thoughts?
As @Shaun stated in fact! (If you also happen to get a Wahoo ELEMNT GPS device and pair this to your ebike, this also gives you an audible and visual indicator of the battery status which is nice.)
As a TEC pack owner, I can confirm that it acts as a completely separate battery to the internal one when connected. Once almost depleted, the Shimano STEPS indicator turns red and, if left until depleted, will turn to an 'off status. At that point, you'll need to switch off completely...
Out of interest, how many out of the 25-30 riders made the whole ride? I came unstuck, i.e. tumbled several times downhill, off Ey-Up T1, so headed back to Peaslake. Off piste? Piste off more like! Mind you, it was nice to meet the gang and bump into @JetSetDemo in the car park. Oh well, will up...
Stop tempting me! :) I do love the look of the latest Jam2 and already having a TEC battery certainly helps. Mind you, I do also like the specs of the Vitus, Canyon and Specialised Levo whose owners don't help with their unbridled enthusiasm! ;)
Great deal but I'm a Medium and will probably wait until 2020 to see what options are available (and allow for a new budget!). Will hopefully catch up next Sunday AND with a No Stans tubeless conversion. Have reached my wits end with two consecutive punctures this weekend, the latter with NO...
Massive thanks to @Jpla9849 and companion for their patience and for sharing the local trails on a chilly Saturday. Some very challenging stuff to get the heart pumping! Hope to see you both again sometime.
