    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

I enjoy arguing on the internet, so I'm going to waste my time humoring you. You brought up cranks and power, which implies pedalling. Thus a reasonable person (me) would assume you're talking about pedalling the bike being a pointless boondoggle on these new high power bikes. I took issue...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

"I've said it before and I'll say it again: why do these have cranks at all? At this point it's just a bit of a silly way to pretend to be powering the thing. " So you just forgot what you typed?

My heart rate and sweat soaked shirt would argue that I'm not simply a passenger.

    USA deliveries of PX?

It's a pretty common phrasing. Basically just means "I don't want to work with you any more"

Current Avinox MG Prototype Bikes Don't Support Battery Regen

I'm not sure an electric car recovers more energy from regen proportional to its size than a bike. Yes, there's way more energy available, but it also requires way more energy to accelerate.

Current Avinox MG Prototype Bikes Don't Support Battery Regen

A significant portion of the energy you spent going uphill is burned up as heat going downhill. If your terrain is at all steep you're bleeding most of your energy as heat in the brakes, rather than to rolling resistance/wind resistance.

    🔋 Semi-Solid-State batteries revolution!

I'd say if you had to choose one, that capacity > charge speed. I think the minority of users are charging mid-ride.

    🔋 Semi-Solid-State batteries revolution!

There actually is such a thing as semi solid state. It has a definition.

Could E-CVT Save the Motor Gearbox Unit (MGU)?

Planetary gears are direct linkages to the rear wheel. It could feel different, but I think it will feel good.

    Avinox Gearbox.

Interesting if true. I'm pretty lazy and I still do my own chain/cassete stuff. There's nothing to it.

    Avinox Gearbox.

Do you think that's why Avinox is popular? Such a motor would get no traction.

    Avinox Gearbox.

I think it depends on what you attach the crankshaft to. If you make the sun gear directly attached to the cranks then I think it'd technically work, but the gearing would probably suck. Planetaries melt my brain though, so I might be wrong.

    Avinox lands on Mars!

I've heard the MTBing on Mars is fantastic. The grit is hell on chains though. Make sure you use a wax based lube.

    Avinox Gearbox.

My main concern with an e-cvt is that I think it'd be terrible/unrideable with a dead battery, but maybe there's a way to engineer that problem away. But even for normal gearboxes or derailers, I can't help but think like 5-6 gears is enough, and that might simplify a normal gearbox.

    Avinox Gearbox.

Let's not pretend it's only government meddling leading to this. Bosch is more than big and rich enough to innovate at this pace if they wanted to. They're just a slow unwieldy dinosaur getting out competed by a young hungry company. Tale as old as time.

    Avinox Gearbox.

    So maybe e-cvt with planetary?

    Avinox Gearbox.

Not sure what changes for you in a hypothetical future where Avinox dominates the e-bike space. How is that different from pre-Avinox when Bosch dominated the space?

'Lightweight' Eeb trade-offs question- Trek Fuel Exe XT

There's really no limit to how fit you can get on an e-bike. Is doing 10 miles easier than on a full fat e-bike? Sure. But why do 10 miles? Do 30. I guarantee you'll get a workout.

'Lightweight' Eeb trade-offs question- Trek Fuel Exe XT

I got leant a Fuel Exe a couple years ago. I'd say the power just isn't sufficient. It's barely an e-bike. I'd look for something like the gen4 levo with RE only levels of performance if I didn't want to go full power e-bike. It's full torque but power limited to 350 watts. Demonstrated to my...
