I had a response from Trek, which I can't find now, which stated there was an update to the app that was coming which would resolve this issue. I'm not holding my breath though. I'm now just riding my bike and not worrying...

    Just had my first ride on my 9.8 XT and I'm loving it. The only issue I have is that the odometer is showing over 200,000 hrs. The mileage is correct. My question is how do I reset the odometer in the app?

    New Bike Day.... Just got my New Fuel EXe 9.8 XT. Can't wait to ride it. Unfortunately Trek decided to send me Sram Code brakes rather then XT as requested and the cassette was not XT which I find strange as it was the XT spec I ordered. They have agreed to send XT brakes and cassette out to me...
