ep801 firmware updates with android phone

I've updated without issue, just don't walk away or disconnect your phone while pushing the update.

    Bosch vs Shimano drag race

My ep801 just stops assisting at 20 mph, I don't feel motor drag, just the added torque stops. I ride quite a bit with the assist turned off to warm up and it's no where near as bad as I thought a 56lbs bike would be. It also makes you appreciate the assistance more after a climb without it 😂.

    EP801 Climbing Cadence

Just wondering what others usually hit for climbing and just general cadence. Riding a trail with lots of steep, rooty, and rocky climbs that I was getting hung up a lot. I accidentally double downshifted and ended up climbing at ~120rpm's. This was like unlocking another mode on my bike in...

    EP801 4 Month Review

I've had my EP801 powered Polygon Collosus n8e for four months now and have ridden everything from flat xc trails, black diamond rocky/rooty hills, and man made jump lines. Short bike review, it's awesome. Very stable on the down hills, playfully maneuverable in the twisties, maintains traction...

    Ebike motor centre

Just need to make the motors oil bath and have a yearly oil change interval. PCB 's sealed with silicone like automotive control modules, even high end roof top HVAC equipment PCB's have a sealant on them nowadays. The bearings would last thousands of miles and probably the useful life span of...

I thought this only happened to Shimano motors 😂...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

When I got my N8e I took it to my parents house to build because we had an event that weekend. I forgot my pump so I used my brothers little frame mounted pump. I thought I had 28-30psi in my MM's on that first ride, worked great! Got home and checked with my gauge pump and both were about...

4 days Old - 9 inches of Scratches

I bought some paint protection film off Amazon for pretty cheap. 2inch (50mm) and 4 inch (100mm) would work for most bikes, it's pretty easy to apply as well. This would add some protection from scrapes and scuffs, and doesn't look too bad either. Attached is a picture from me applying it, next...

Would ep801 put you off buying a bike ?

Parts availability is an issue, but some of the higher wear items like bearings or seals can be bought at any bearing supplier. I've repair lots of circuit boards that just had some electrolysis because they got wet. A brass brush and electronic cleaner got my kids stacyc going after he crashed...

Would ep801 put you off buying a bike ?

My ep801 doesn't have a rattle, it's completely silent, and it's got 85nm of power which is plenty for me. Ep801 rattle test

Decoy with ep801 motor - noise?

I haven't ridden a decoy, but my 24 Collosus n8e with the ep801 is silent. I've ridden on chunky rocks and roots and no rattle, we'll see if it gets noisy after some more milage, but so far it's silent.

We have a huge problem with ebikes

My computer charger will charge my phone or PC with no issues, I think it'll put out 5, 9, 15, or 20vdc so it's been done before. Imagine if bike chargers were just as simple as a large HD USBC, reversible and easy to use!

We have a huge problem with ebikes

I'd like to see parts availability and breakdowns to rebuild motors out of warranty. It would also be nice if each brand would at least make a standard bolt pattern and have a motor, battery, and wire harness kit to make upgrading possible and easy. I believe Shimano ep8000, ep8, and ep801 are...

    Eco sucks!

Eco feels like more than just assist for the extra weight on my 55lbs Polygon Collosus with an EP801. I start rides with the assist turned off to get warmed up. My background is with dirt bikes so I think this bike is very playful and have zero desire to go back to an analog bike. I was planning...
