1st ride today with the update. Set the extended boost to +5 on EMTB and now I can feel the boost, same as overrun was on my Gen3 in EMTB +. Going to try +10 tomorrow for the 2m extended boost/overrun. I also heard the sound/noise of the pretension working but not sure yet about how well it works.

This YETI ASR is now my gravel bike, had it for 10 years and "bled thru the eyeballs" many happy times on this bike. I can't sell this bike, I'm too emotionally attached to it.

I have the full update now 120nm, except for the EMTB+ mode which is not available here for some reason. This was covered in the Ask Greg thread.

Still no update in Sunny South Africa unless someone can advise otherwise, I've tried all the uninstalling and reinstalling but there is no update available.

It's strange that it only applies to Gen 5, my mates with Gen 3 and 4 Rails all have EMTB+.

I have done all the updates available, my LBS which is a Trek dealer connected to the dealer site/app and replied that it's a Trek thing which seems to be for South African only. Can you please confirm whether this is true. I must add, I have 3 riding friends with the same bike and none of us...

Why does my Trek rail+ 9.7 Gen 5 not have EMTB+ mode available, my Gen 3 Rail 7 had EMTB+.

I've had normal bike issues like drivetrain wear and brake problems but the Bosch motor and electronics have been flawless, hope I'm not tempting fate here.

Some bike shops have demo saddles, that's how I found what worked for me anyway - Spez Power or Phenom.

Not today but on my first ride down the road to set things up, my long denims got caught in the chain guide and snapped it off clean. Riding without the chain guide since and it's fine.

Had to be a bike from my LBS. They stock Trek, Cannondale and Giant EMTB's. Trek was having a sale so got a Rail 7 G3(625Wh), no regrets at all, this bike is a blast to ride. Have had both wheels replaced under warranty, easy process.

This question comes up often. With ebikes it's best to buy from your LBS or a bike shop close by that will offer service and warranty claims etc.

When it comes to ebikes, buying from your LBS is always best for backup etc.
