    Stop battery getting stolen

You could always get a dog and tie them to the bike overnight Now I like that idea! Could also help pull me up the hill when battery flat!

    Stop battery getting stolen

Hi folks I have a Specialized turbo levo. The battery is held in with a hex bolt that could easily be undone. I lock my bike up to back of car when camping (beside it) on multi-day treks, but just thought what's to stop someone stealing the £1000 battery off the bike. Any suggestions? Thanks

Pedalling e-bike when motor turned off

Yeah but that's the point - there shouldn't be motor resistance as the clutch should disengage the motor when not assisting

Pedalling e-bike when motor turned off

Thanks - that's v helpful. I'll contact Specialized because the info def says the Brose motor should fully disengage when not assisting

Pedalling e-bike when motor turned off

Mmm, that's interesting - because I sometimes start with motor off completely (on very flat terrain) and turn it on later, then go to 'off' as a mode...and it feels different. Will experiment with that tomorrow. The Specialized turbo levo was specifically marketed as not having any motor drag...

Pedalling e-bike when motor turned off

Errm, actually lots of reasons. Anyway, that wasn't the question, I was trying to find out if there was additional drag from the motor or not

Pedalling e-bike when motor turned off

Yes - that's exactly my experience - which makes me think it is 'psychological'

Pedalling e-bike when motor turned off

Yes - I find it difficult to think it is just due to increased weight and tyre resistance. It feels really strange, and maybe it is just 'psychological' after the motor support, but it would good for someone 'in the know' to confirm that the motor definitely disengages when turned off and I'm...

Pedalling e-bike when motor turned off

OK, is that all it is? The difference feels massive

Pedalling e-bike when motor turned off

Hi folks I am quite new to e-biking. When the motor is 'assistance off' it feels like I am pedalling through glue - feels like massive resistance. Is this 'psychological' after the feeling with 'assistance on'. I have a new Specialized turbo levo so I thought there was a clutch that disengaged...

    GPS mapping

I use trailforks in UK and it's second to none. Run this on the smartphone mounted on stem with a quadlock so reasonably safe (inside a protective case) for most MTBing (but take it off and put in pocket for the really black stuff). Trailforks does also run on some of the higher end Garmins but...

    EV charging points for e-bike

Thanks for reply. My charger for 700WH battery is quite heavy so not sure how much I would do this. Was also thinking of being a bit more off-grid for a while, but good to know that pub would let you charge the bike

    EV charging points for e-bike

Hi folks Was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or experience of using EV charging points for e-bikes? Looks like you can get an adapter for this online (eg EV Type 2 to 13A, 16A CEE, EU(Schuko) Socket or C13 Plug Adaptor Cable 2.4m, from EVbitz UK) but I have no experience of actually using...
