How did you press the bearings back into the frame when you serviced it? I’ve only done bearings on one frame and used the green loctite to bond the outer race to the alloy frame. No idea if there’s a carbon equivalent to the green stuff.
This makes me wonder - could you remove the main battery and just use the extender? I’m tempted with one of my youngest kids as a way to create a super light ebike for him.
Orbea Rise. Carbon if you can swing it. Small battery to keep it light. That’s about as light as they come and will be more than capable for her use. It’s a great bike.
I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, and it’s a bit of work but why not reroute the cables to to top of the downtube (with sticky cable guides) and then into the stays? The bike seems among best in class aside from the cable routing.
XL 2023 Rise H10, 48 lbs with Supertrail Schwalbe tires F & R and pedals
S 2023 M20 with big battery, 43 lbs, stock with pedals
I've really enjoyed mine (XL H10) but I'll admit to being a bit surprised at the weights on each bike. Hoping a lot of it is in the wheels which I plan to swap out...
I’m curious how this rides compared to running the 8.5 x 2.5 rear shock and offset bushings. I think the cascade would offer a superior leverage curve from what they show on their website.
I have the larger battery, but I usually go on shorter rides, multiple times a week. I don't regret having the larger battery, but I can say I'd be just as well served by the smaller one plus the range extender... and yeah, the alloy rise is a freaking incredible bike. Can't believe how well...
I'm considering re-routing all (or most) of the headset cables to be external and/or running a GX AXS shifter and derailleur. While I don't love the optics, I hate the lack of serviceability of headset cable routing. I'm looking at using the jagwire stick on tabs or something similar and...
been wondering this myself. they changed the carbon molds for 2023 to account for headset cable routing (yuck) and redesiged a rocker link to make it out of carbon. I could see them keeping it for one more year, but who knows. The price drop seems to match what every other manufacturer has...
How much faff is dropping the motor? I’m an intermediate mechanic. The other consideration - I’m about to get a 2023 and want to do away with the headset routing. I’m happy to run cable guides on top of the downtube and then into the rear stays but that still leaves the controller wire and dropper.
