Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Very interesting. Just looking at the 9.5, in USD, is ~$2k cheaper than what it costs here in the US. That's significant. Come on, TrekUSA, follow-suit ... Thanks for sharing.

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Wait ... hol up. Where are you seeing 25-30% off? I saw Specialized have massively discounted the older Turbo Levo SL Comp models but haven't seen any discounting on EXe's, but would love it if they did.

Fuel EXe Chain dropping and "clunk" sound on Fuel ExE 9.5

Very helpful, thank you. Your explanation of item number 2 seems really on point ... that seems quite plausible to be what I'm hearing. It's interesting because I knew the 9.5 was the lower specc'ed entry model but didn't have an appreciation what that really meant. Don't get me wrong, it's a...

Fuel EXe Chain dropping and "clunk" sound on Fuel ExE 9.5

Hi - Just got a Fuel ExE 9.5 and experienced two issues on my first ride and looking for some advice. 1. On no-assist, I was going up a gradual incline and shifted to a lower gear and the chain dropped (from the front). Maybe I've been lucky but I've never experienced that before. Is there...

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I definitely don't disagree with this, but a $7k purchase is a big outlay for me. I don't know if this is a "1 in a 1000" occurrence or very common occurrence. Given my primary criteria is purchasing a emtb that offers easy no-assist pedalling, this unfortunately does become a factor in my...

What is the easiest, most natural feeling emtb to pedal without assist?

Hi - One of the appealing factors, to me, for an emtb is that it gets me out more and allows me to cycle where ordinarily my fitness or strength would not allow. That said, I want to work on my fitness and strength, and I want to force myself to pedal without assist as much as possible until...

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Man, I was so close to pulling the trigger and buying the ExE primarily because I liked the idea that it seems of all the emtbs out there, this was the one that would be closest to being able to pedal like a regular mtb. I like the idea of being able to pedal without assist to work on my fitness...

Let me be the first to admit I'll likely get way more bike than I need for the type of riding I'll be doing or my skill level. To be honest, a regular gravel bike would likely be sufficient for the terrain I'll encounter. That said, I feel that an emtb will get me over the steep climbs and...

I have some open trails close to my house so just casual riding, nothing hardcore. I'd love to get both a e-mtb and a regular gravel bike and mix and match my rides. Figure the gravel bike may help with upping my fitness level, whereas the e-mtb will get me out more!

Fuel EXe Switching off assist on Fuel exe(Firmware?)

Wow, thanks for this. I got the whole speech from the Trek guy saying how he was a beta tester, gave this feedback to Trek and it was still going to be addressed. I dunno, maybe that's all true and it was an issue that was fixed and he didn't know, or, he just never knew about how to turn it off.

Fuel EXe Switching off assist on Fuel exe(Firmware?)

Hi - Seriously considering the Fuel EXe 9.5 - more bike than I need for my proficiency but since when has that stopped a logical purchasing decision? I went to the local Trek store yesterday to test ride it. One thing that was 'odd' was that once you go into any level of assist, you couldn't...

    Chris from Colorado

Hi all - Just recently moved to Colorado and must do what all people do in Colorado, which is have N+1 bikes. I haven't been on a bike for about 20 years but got back into it starting with an Aventon which for the price was a good way of getting outdoors, but I'm now ready to step up to a more...
