Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Hi, just following up re the fit of the Vivid, and its performance. Any clearance issues or contact / rubbing near the lower bridge? Hows the performance now that you have had more time on it? Worth the upgrade? Thanks

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

If things seem to be getting confused and knobs are a twiddling left and right it sometimes pays to get back to basics and get the fundamentals sorted first.... You, and a lot of people on here have a lot of base knowledge from MTB and MX, but have a listen to what this guy says and maybe give...

Just watch what parts are needed if you ever decide to change the stroke, because with the Super Deluxe Airs with the non adjustable HBO you need to swap out the damper body (with the pressed in HBO needle) because this part is sensitive to the stroke if it's going to kick in at 20% travel...

Great feedback, did you go with stock shock stroke? 205 x 60mm?

Thanks so much for the reply with install pics. It sure is tight! But hey it's in. Let us know if there where any contact issues in real world riding. Can you get at the rebound knob ok? My understanding is the suspension is relatively linear hence the progressive air can on the Super Deluxe...

Vivid FAQ's has this link to a accurately scaled drawing, will check this against my original cutout.... https://support.rockshox.com/hc/en-us/articles/18039359674395-Will-the-MY24-Vivid-Air-fit-my-frame-

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Hi All, Following the release of the new Rock Shox Vivid, this is a pic of a roughly scaled cutout (205mm eye to eye) against my frame. There will be some possible interference with the bottle mount / tool as the remote reservoir rotates forward on the rocker.... but it looks like there will be...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXE Tuning

#3 is 550km in and flawless to date, no sign of the inconsistent power delivery or anything else. Also seems quieter than the previous two, but that may just be because rumbling as it cuts power or whining as it spools up repeatedly. All good. Fingers crossed.

I think the interpretation is correct, " corresponding models" are probably checked at frame manufacture stage to be the correct dimension for the fixed motor mount widths, but given achievable mass manufacture tolerances I can see how this leads to creaking in some new bikes. Compensation...

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I seem to remember that the original motor in my bike didn't have the adjusters, but the next two motors both have had them. That could mean that certain of the original motors supplied to Trek in OEM spec didn't have the adjusters? (Perhaps because the mounting gaps were known and assumed to be...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Power Application

The "soft growling" is definitely a part of the symptoms, and although current Diagnostics won't flag this error, TQ are aware of it and working on their diagnostics and faulty motors to train it to detect the issue.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Power Application

See this thread here: Hi, see this thread here from this post on : Fuel EXe - Trek Fuel EXE Tuning and also try searching a few pages back in the Megathread... inconsistent power delivery at certain power inputs is a known problem with this motor and TQ are aware of it.

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I'm open to correction, but pretty sure mileage is related to the motor as it's the main "wear" component. I'm on my third motor under warranty, (so far this ones a keeper!) I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago and now have a reading of 125km's which agrees with my Garmin for the new motor...

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Agreed, no capacity in the TQ or Trek App to do any firmware update, you need the dealer software and service dongle... which is very different from Specialized and most car manufacturers these days that offer "over the air" firmware upgrades.

Haha! Are we posting in parallel or what... also waiting for my spare battery and dedicated backpack to carry it! We compare notes soon! I'll also check my "odometer" on Garmin and Trek App and see if there is a major difference.

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

That rig sure is looking dialled! If I'm not mistaken you have two 360Wh batteries, and my second battery is due to arrive next week, it just made more sense for my application too. My question for you (If you use the Trek app to record rides) is what happens when you are mid ride and power down...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXE Tuning

Definitely motor, not software, if you read my original reply to your message you'll see I mentioned that when TQ got the feedback re my symptoms they immediately instructed Trek to replace the 2nd motor as well, and confirmed that they were busy teaching their diagnostics to pick up the issue...

I'm not sure what you mean by step back? The power drop to zero while rider input was 80-130W was about as frequent on motor 2 as motor 1, I would say motor 2 was noisier, with more "growling" than 1. Motor 3 (so far!) is golden, no drop off and no noise. It's super smooth and quiet.
