The most common issue with Decoy's freezing on start up seems to be the battery. Specifically moisture entering the battery. When my Decoy refused to start, simple battery replacement fixed it. So the easiest test would be trying someone else's battery in your bike. Shimano service probably...
I rode mine in both settings. I do like high setting more not so much for fewer pedal strikes, but because I feel better balanced. Try it, you may like it as well
FYI: Follow up on my original post below.
I sent email to YT (USA) with explanation of the problem. YT responded promptly with a question to confirm the type of the problem and asked me to fill out warranty form. After a day or two the warranty was approved and I was told that a new battery...
Yeah, I also believe it is the battery that is the problem. I'm waiting for YT to respond. The good thing is that I can drive up to their dealer with the bike if needed.
Have the same issue again. This time nothing seems to work. Display stays stuck in logo. Everything cleaned, dried, reassembled few times. Annoying. Time to get in touch with YT
As Decoy owner I'm disappointed to read about OPs problems.
I do wonder though if YT's reluctance to provide "sync codes" might be related to their deal with the battery supplier. I'm skeptical that YT actually engineered the whole battery (other than defining physical size, mounting points...
Just out of curiosity, have you serviced lowers on Fox 36 and check if there is not exesive amount of grease in the negative air chamber as often mentioned on web?
great, looks like it is working fine. (y)
on the steep terrain it will be noticeable and will spin the wheel if it does not have enough traction, just make sure small enough cog is selected and don't push too hard on the bar
Can you try it on the bike stand? I used it to spin the chain while lubing couple times - used a rubber band to keep mode button pressed. If it fails, call the seller
Be careful not to put your fingers near any moving parts though!
try it again and make sure you have a small cog selected, keep pressing the mode button to keep the motor spinning, don't push the bike, just hold on the bar
There is definitely a big room for improvement on the software side for Shimano system. I thought the same some time back about Sony products. I wonder if this is more common in Japanese products. Great hardware execution, software only so so. Priorities?
