I have a Topfire MD17 carbon frame.
The eBay seller told me I needed a 190x 51 standard mount or 185 x 55 trunnion rear shock. I bought a 185 x 55 trunnion RockShox shock.
The frame arrived without a headset and rear axle, so I contacted Topfire. I’ve since decided not to use their headset or...
This is true.
It’s also easy with hope to choose the brake colour you like, then get carried away choosing same colour parts.
My frame is bare carbon with a slate grey Zeb. I thought a bit of colour would look good but it gets expensive quickly.
I will have rethink for sure.
I thought everyone who had V4’s loved them?
My last bike was a Raleigh Marauder in the early 90’s 😊. I buying everything on others recommendations/opinions. I like the orange parts too. I’m a bit simple with things like that.
Are the rotors not good?
I was having second thoughts about spending £1500 for brakes, headset, pedals, cranks, stem, bars and wheels before seeing this thread.
That is a huge help. I just emailed the frame builder to ask about leverage ratio.
That works out at 2.7 so that shock should be good?
That calculator recommends a different spring rate than the TF tuned one.
7kg of the 175lbs is motor and battery 60% of which would not be over the back...
About to order a spring for my shock and want to make sure I choose the right one.
I think my frame is single pivot/Dw Link which would mean a 450lb spring, but tbh I’m not 100% sure.
Thanks
Im really struggling with this. Keep putting it off but I need to order tonight.
I’m between MT5 eStop and Hope V4’s. Ive got a stack of parts to buy and the Hopes cost more than double what the MT5 do.
Do the standard levers need swapping out on the MT5 eStop?
Finland VAT should be discounted when the bike is exported outside of EU.
I assumed I would pay double VAT on parts from German sellers but that isn’t the case. German VAT is discounted at point of sale and U.K. VAT is charged on arrival. Duty is £0.
I was just about to order MT5’s as they seem great value. Had last minute doubts and I’m considering Hope V4’s.
Are they worth the significant extra cost?
Im totally new to bike disc brakes so if the Hopes are easier to bleed and adjust that’s a big bonus.
Thanks for that.
Seems like the air shocks are 190 x 51 and the coils are 185 x 55 trunnion.
Was going to go with a coil at the rear but might have a rethink.
