Comment by 'ALLeighton' in article 'Ibis Oso Launched - Bosch Powered EMTB'

I actually prefer nylon as they slide off the rocks better than metal on my local trails. That impact actually bent the pedal axle as well. Thankfully the crankarm didn't bend, which happened last year on an eThirteen crankarm.

Also, definitely interested in installing some shorter crankarms!:

I am enjoying my Oso since I ordered it in October of '22. I also accepted at the time it was not the best value, but it's still a little irritating how deeply discounted they are right now. I also hear Ibis is going to significantly lower their MSPR soon. Grat deals if you were waiting to pull...

What is your most used mode?

    Almost always EMTB mode.

    AXS Destroying SRAM Cassettes?

I never use Turbo mode. Typically, in EMTB mode. I am modifying my shifting a bit more to see if it helps. Otherwise, I might swap back to Shimano XT or consider the new AXS system. Talking to a SRAM rep at Sea Otter Classic, he was well-aware of this issue and said the new AXS system should...

    AXS Destroying SRAM Cassettes?

Yeah, I try to consciously back off my pedaling before shifting but wonder if I also need to factor in the Bosch motor overrun. Is this what you guys are doing?

    Paying for your EBike

Same here...paid for most of my Ibis Oso by selling through a large chunk of my vintage 80s MTB parts and catalogs. Amazing what some '80s brochures and catalogs will bring (e.g., Moots, Bontrager, Ibis, etc.)! Felt like I was recycling back to my favorite hobby:)

    AXS Destroying SRAM Cassettes?

I have 2023 Ibis Oso with SRAM GX AXS. After six months and less than 400 miles, the shifting went from perfect to impossible-to-adjust gear jumping. This despite a clean chain with less than 0.5% stretch, straight derailleur hanger, and correct b-tension setting at 30% drag. After dropping it...

    All about AXS

Like you said, the GX AXS on my Ibis Oso went from flawless for the first few months to nearly a gear off the low end when it's adjusted properly on the high end. The hanger is bang on straight and tight, the b-tension is set perfect at 30% sag, chain is at less than 0.5, derailleur is...

Impact of California rain on my local trail

Yep. I forks with one road going to Pozo, one going to Garcia Ridge, and one going to the condor lookout at the top of Hi Mountain.

Impact of California rain on my local trail

We have quite a bit of clean-up work on the Central Coast as well. These are pics from last weekend on Hi Mountain Road east of Arroyo Grande.
