E8000 Merida eBig 9 engine replacement or fix

Hello, thanks in advance for any advice. My work commute is a 50km round trip no hills, I had an opportunity to buy an e160 700 salary sacrificed so jumped at that but would like to resurrect my old e big tour 2017 which has bearing failure. For such a boring commute it seems a poor idea to put...

    Pic of the Day

So why do I love e-bikes? The ability to bounce off uphill switchbacks? Yeah Turn long uphill slogs into no hands water breaks? Yeah I'm on day 5 straight of 2 hours / 30 km downhill sessions. So for a 50 somethin y.o. who spent too much time in front of a desk the past few months I'll say...

Parklands, site for 2032 Olympics mt. bikes. It will be interesting to see if this bit is in the course, I studied carefully before I walked down : p Photos don't do it justice, I got up it and went "oh nooooo, there's a whole pile a pain there for any mistake" - 2m very steep, rocky to 90...

    Talk to me about Mullets

My new e160 has this setup, I initially thought it was just sales speak from a quick car park ride as the steering head angle is very slow. Weirdly after now 200km+ of trails in the last 5 days I get it, it really responds faster than my 29/29 e-big9 when you counter steer and flip flop directions.

I tore my atfl jogging down Whitsunday Island Dec last year, so 500m up and a few km from a bareboat charter, made an audible snap. I found I could walk on my heel so just walked back to the boat, drove the family 1000km home. Visited the doctor after ultrasound, completely severed, he told me...

    Priorities

So wanting to get my 2 teenagers along with me means 3 e-bikes. I find it highly amusing most places we go in our trusty old 1998 Subaru probably worth $1000- we unload $16,000 of e-bikes. Next to us park the new cars worth $35,000 and they unload their measly human powered bikes, I know who's...

Off-road tyres on wet winter roads...

I'm curious as to what others think but having survived 20 years of road motorcycling I am a believer in knowing your boundaries of grip, I used to see when the rear would spin up in the wet as a guide to how slippery the road was, 3rd half throttle = very slippy, 1st = pretty grippy. IMO you...
