    Do you need wife's permission?

When it was just the two of us, I was racing 10ish races a year so I was always preparing or racing on the weekend. Basically every Sundays I was gone all day. It is way harder with a small kid, especially if you don't live near grandparents. Hobbies are basically very early in the morning or...

is there a new Orbea about to land ??

No idea about the wild, but the refreshed Rise with 160/160 travel and bigger battery is going to be much closer in ability to the Wild than before. The entire range was up on the website for a day, so it will be announced very soon.

EMTB Enduro - Radon Deft vs Giant Reign

I went through a similar choice myself and ended on the Reign. Main criteria was that I had already had 3 direct sales bikes, but wanted to try the local shop experience again. I think both bikes will be quite similar on trail. The Giant motor is actually quite reliable, their software is a bit...

Giant Trance Advanced E+ elite 1 vs Heckler SL

Interesting choice to have to make, without throwing a leg over either of them: The Giant has a reliable and well liked motor, but their frames can lack high end finishes and details. On the other hand, SC make possibly the best quality frames, but feedback on the Fazua has been pretty mixed...

Levo Gen 3 Levo Gen 4 2024 Rumours

I'm not sure it will have a SRAM logo on it, but my guess is that it will effectively be the same the motor, but with spesh software that will have more tuning and modes (I believe SRAM version only gets 2)

How are eMTBs 1/3 the price of a Tesla model 3?

Yes, the prices are purely supply and demand based. The question now is whether MSRPs will move even slightly down now that demand is vastly diminished. But forget about the Tesla, how is BYD releasing the seagull/dolphin-mini with a 30kWh battery for $10k in China, which is the price of many...

Looking for guidance: reign e+ 1 or spesh levo

Yes, Galfer make some tidy looking ones, just have to be careful with the 203/200 and 223/220 compatibility, might need a few extra washers depending the standards on the bike.

    Show me your airtime

Damn, a lot of these are legit! I have done some sizable stuff, but they always look pretty average in photos/videos. This one is more of a long and low:

    Which brands have transferable warranties?

Go take a look in the levo threads for more details. But basically all the Brose ones which are all very similar hence the naming being specialized 1.2, 1.3 etc. Their SL motors from Mahle have similar reliability as other brands I believe. I was talking to a guy who bought 3 levos for himself...

Comment by 'Rando_12345' in article 'Bosch 800 Wh battery & online battery check'

This is a huge deal for Lapierre GLP3 owners, which some consider the most "racy" emtb out there. I have ridden my giant 800Wh equipped reign with GLP3 owners with their 725Wh batteries, all of us on max power. We pretty much all ended under 10% after 1600m of climbing, despite the Bosch guys...

Looking for guidance: reign e+ 1 or spesh levo

An quick fix for the brakes is upgrading to HS2 rotors in 220mm front and rear, huge difference in brake power and feel. I went a step further and fitted some maguras, mt5's but dont find the performance much better than the codes with massive rotors.

Looking for guidance: reign e+ 1 or spesh levo

The Levo would probably ride the best considering the components, the question is how near and how big is the shop selling it, as you would have to go in expecting to need a motor replacement every year... If that sounds acceptable to you and you believe the shop can replace the motor in a week...

Looking for guidance: reign e+ 1 or spesh levo

Hi, I have a reign and it is a good bike, main reason I got it, is like you can see the cost and value in general are real good. That said, I don't put much stock into weight, but the pivot and levo happen to be among the lightest (22-24kg depending on build) whereas the reign is around 3kg...

    What tyres are people using

For the rear, schwalbe Eddy currents is as close to unpuncturable as the is, but heavy, otherwise any of their tyre in super gravity will work well. Currently running a vittoria e-mazza, pretty optimistic about its durability, and can be found cheap. I don't recommend maxxis or continental as...

    Reign E+ 2022

Speaking of shocks, I am sending my Novya back to get checked/serviced, the knocking got worse and worse. I think part of the issue is the eyelet is a fraction of a millimetre larger than the original, and the weird maestro mounting is causing some rattling. I could see the paint was a bit worn...

Levo SL Gen 1 Levo SL 2023 Megathread

They really spared every expense :ROFLMAO:

    Other Can we talk brakepads

Not sure about performance, but Galfer or HS2 thick rotors make codes feel a lot nicer by reducing the huge lever throw (i.e. amount of pull required before they engage), a bit of a pain to not have them rub all the time though...

    Other Can we talk brakepads

Galfer purple or green, pretty much the best there is, but pricey. Otherwise, if you know you will run codes for a while, buy a box of 3-4pairs of pads, if you can find them they work out much cheaper than individual pairs.

Discounted Bike and parts Thread - cheap(er) ebikes & stuff

Was about to buy two pairs of pads for my sram codes (50e) then realized I could get a pair of MT5 full brakes for 130e.

Old Ebike, go Light or go Big?

Update: sold for €1800, will hopefully get another 200 out of the second more recent battery. I don't even want to add up the upgrades and fixes (€1000 just for the motor that was still under warranty). It's brutal out there, can only console myself that the electric car I bought 12 months ago...
