Who actually wants more than 85nm and 400%

Back in the prehistoric days of 2015, I was in a local enduro race with my club, all but one of us were on enduro bikes, but one slower club member had an EMTB (probably a haibike). After one of the most physical stages he came up to us shouting "Guys, did you see the times? I nearly beat you on...

Who actually wants more than 85nm and 400%

Part of the issue is the arms race at a local level. I have been competing with the same guys for KOMs on Strava for 15years, first on regular MTBs then on ebikes. Until recently whether you were on a Bosch, Shimano or Yamaha, it didn't really affect anything on the downhills (different story...

    Cube one77 2025

I'm sticking with Shimano because I love the lever feel, but I've actually had a bit of bad luck with mine needing a lot of bleeds to feel good (basically they feel bad with new pads needing less oil, then good for a few hours, then need a bleed to add oil again...) whereas my other brakes were...

    Thoughts on this one77 cube

Yes, mostly ride to work and at lunch time with my 600wh, but when I do a big ride I swap to the 800Wh, and sometimes do massive days with both:

    Thoughts on this one77 cube

I think I still agree with everything in the video. I have not had too many crank strikes thanks to my 145mm cranks and 190mm fork. I lost my battery cover on a ride as I suspected I might. My build is 23.5kg with the 600Wh (no pedals or tools). I recently beat 2 avinox bikes in an XC race...

    Cube one77 2025

I'm on SRAM HS2 220mm rotors for the past 2-3 years on my main bikes, huge upgrade regardless of the brake (had SRAM codes, magura mt5 and now shim XT)

    Extender battery?

Nah, he was reading the greg watts AI summaries as news before the m2s launch and saying it was a forum leak... I quite like his videos, but I would take a lot of the things he says with a grain of salt.

    Cube one77 2025

Yes I got lucky I had a bunch of cardboard to protect the bikes in the boot and some tape. It takes me 10minutes to do each time I charge the battery in the tiny apartment I rented, but yes the lower terminals would get wrecked with mud

    LETS SEE YOUR RIDE FOOTAGE

No new footage, but I finally got around to making something I always wanted to make, and with Claude Code it was trivially easy: https://eointhomas.github.io/PACA_rides/ Mapped out the best trails in my area, at least the ones for which I have nice drone and POV footage. Hopefully this...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

But didn't ZF also have a big presence 2 years ago then disappear? Also I echo this feeling that my hype to get an M2s bike has been trampled by these mgu and 900Wh batteries https://ebike-mtb.com/en/avinox-mg-concept-bike-kauf-m2s-eurobike/

Wanted to film this awesome switchback trail, but the drone couldn't handle the trees or turns... At least the upper part has a nice view:

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

My point about weight is mostly: If you have a sub 2kg motor giving out a medim amount of power, by all means try to get the overall weigth down with a 400-600Wh battery to get a ~4kg system weight. For a full power MGU/ECVT with ~4kg of motor, the bike isn't going to ride dramatically...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

Would take the biggest battery option, especially if removable batteries are on the way out. Bigger range, less cycles used over time. Battery weight will get less important with heavy MGUs.

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

Never really thought about regen braking, but that could be one of the bigger deals if implemented in a nice way, e.g. set a default regen rate at the start of ride to account for terrain from 0 to say 30%, and a system for engaging and disengaging it naturally (e.g. 0 regen for x seconds after...
