Crank arm torques can vary by manufacturer, best to check with them first.

I had this happen the other day for the 1st time, didn't sound good and wondered what was going on. I was thinking to tape a piece of cable tie along the top of the guide to try and prevent stones dropping in - but haven't done that yet.
This may have something to do with it... maybe incorrect adjustment of crank arm......

You cannot reposition the socket, that is built in to the actual battery as is. (although the relevant diagram in the service manual shows an incorrect orientation relative to the LEDs)

That is how it is corrected, at both ends, so it is solvable but that wrong alignment allied to an incorrect illustration of the charge port vs LEDs arrangement gave a couple of confusing days.....
