    Bafang m820

@mike_kelly , @ficorama , if someone would actually open different voltage motors, and check the windings and gearing, that would be great. I would be very interested. I attributed different weight between the EON and M820 to different material being used in the gears, axle(more aluminum and...

    Bafang m820

FW attached, but I don't think there is anything wrong with my unit. Anyway, here is last years review of different ligthweigth motors. One of them is forestal, that has EON drive, (bafang M820 brother)...

    Bafang m820

You don't have to explain anything to me. M820 is not a bad motor. It has more than enough power and also a lot of torque at low cadence. But, my experience is, that at higher cadencees, torque tapers off a bit faster than with the competition. That's it...

    Bafang m820

Well, ok. High cadence is a bit arbitrary. What is high for some, is not high for others. Spinning at 90rpm is most of the time fine, especially with higher battery percentage. But higher, 120 for example, there is a very noticeable drop in power. For some this is not an issue at all. When...

Any updated 43V firmwares available? That would have more usable torque sensor range?

    M820 Bafang - LIGHTCARBON LCE930 Frame (lightweight)

To utilize the BESST tool, there's no need for disassembly. It connects between your controller and the controller's wire harness, which is accessible without taking anything apart.

    New M820 frame from Seraph/TanTan, the E67.

Regarding the battery going to sleep, I believe it was written before in some other thread before. What turned out to be the case is, that person received the wrong wire harness. Essentially, battery BMS was not connected to the motor, so the only way to wake it up was to plug it in. To check...

    M820 Bafang - LIGHTCARBON LCE930 Frame (lightweight)

I used 3M Rubber Mastic Tape 2228 on the downtube, motor cover and on the seat stay, where there is a possibility of chain bounce on and chipping any paint.

Bafang Go+, is it a new App for all motors ?

I think this is a HW upgrade, not only SW. So you can't just update version 2 to 3.

    M820 Bafang - LIGHTCARBON LCE930 Frame (lightweight)

Went with this one: https://www.bike24.com/p2741815.html But, as I have said, I haven't installed it yet, so can't comment if it even fits properly. :)

    M820 Bafang - LIGHTCARBON LCE930 Frame (lightweight)

Yes, I have the same issue. It started creaking almost instantly. I took it apart, cleaned, regressed, put it back together, but the problem persisted. I bought new headset, but haven't got the time to install it yet. After installation, it will be clear if it is the issue with the headset or...

Does anybody have any information regarding official bafang range extenders? Few months ago, there was discussion, how bafang is developing 36V and 42V range extender, but no news since than.

I was looking at the discharge graphs, where the first 0.1V dropps rather quickly. (disregard 3.9V start voltage, that is due to internal resistance.) Source: Test of Samsung INR18650-35E 3500mAh (Pink) But now that you pointed it out, I am not sure if this is acrurate way of estimating...

Bafang charges its 12s 410wh battery to 4.1V per cell. I would assume, that they are trying to improve battery life a bit. Higher voltages degrade battery faster. And by charging to only 4.1, you don't really, lose 20%. More like 2%-4%. At the higher voltagea around 4.1, curve is quite steep...

Second one. Output is constant 12V, with the overcurrent protection. But, to me, this overcurrent protection looks rather wierd. I have a light with cca 380mA at 12V. If I have the light connected, while I turn it on with the HMI, it triggers overcurrent protection and ligth is just blinking...

Wow, very impressive weigth for stock 410wh battery! Mine is cca 21kg without pedals(and a bit of mud :)) , built for the same price. But with a coil shock and heavier wheels and tyres. :)
