Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

Really? My eGravel bike (fazua) and eMTB’s are pretty easy to pedal over the limit up to around 35-40kmh, AS LONG AS, I have fast rolling tyres on them. On the trails on my Levo I’m closer to about 32kmh on flat ground before my sad pathetic legs can spin no more. Gordon

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

    1. I’m not disagreeing that 32kmh would make more sense, especially on the road. 25kmh on the road isn’t enough if you’re in traffic. Especially on bike hating Australian roads. That doesn’t change my opinion that while I would like the limit raised here, that I don’t pick and choose which laws...

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

In Oz, you’d be riding an illegal bike. If something happened and you hurt someone, that would count against you and you could end up in jail. Not to mention that we’re allowed to ride our bike everywhere any pedal bike is. Illegal bikes could change that. They already cause enough agro with the...

Apple Watch Os 10 - big Cycling Update

It’ll depend whether the bike has BLE hardware that can broadcast. If it does the Specialised should be able to make it happen. Since the phone connection to the bike is BLE, using the mission control app, I would think they can make it compatible with the Apple Watch. Currently it only...

Apple Watch Os 10 - big Cycling Update

Yep. This would be huge for me. Would love to have the Levo connect directly to the Watch Ultra. I don’t usually carry my phone when I ride. At the moment I have the ultra on my wrist and an 830 on the bike with a wrist based HRM. The 830 is lowly dying and I’d rather be able to use the Ultra...

Levo Gen 3 Fitting Hope Tech 4 V4 brakes on Turbo Levo

Levos are fully sleeved for hoses and cable from the head tube to the rear stay. No motor drop required. One slides out and the other slides in. Use a hose joiner if you're unsure but I didn't even need that. I just plugged the hose with a spoke nipple so I wouldn't need to do a full bleed. Gordon

Levo Gen 3 Fitting Hope Tech 4 V4 brakes on Turbo Levo

Swapped out my codes for XTR. Rear brake took 10 minutes to fit plus a bleed. 4 hours is a joke. Gordon

Levo Gen 3 All-in-one Multitool for Gen3 Turbo Levo

I have the swat tool in my Levos but I prefer the OneUp EDC tool because the chainbreaker is in the removable tool rather than faffing around with dropping the bottom section like in the swat. You can also store the tool in a pump and have it all in one if you don’t want the weight in the...

How To Fix Dead Shimano Power Switch....

Is there not a little rubber gromet in your downtube, around where the bottle cage mounts are? You're supposed to remove that and use a 5mm allen ket to press the battery switch. Gordon

    New Battery not 700 watt

Has anyone actually seen a range decrease after the firmware upgrade? It's just as likely that it's a reporting change as much as an actual limit put on the usable wH of the battery. You'd have to back to back testing to see if it's an actual change to what Specialized are letting you have vs...

Other How many people NOT having issues with a X2

Two current Levos. two X2's (plus another on a Merida). No problems with any of them. Gordon

What will be your next emtb? Lightweight or full fat?

Have two of each. 2x Levos. Got to have a spare for the motor swap outs. :) Actually my GF rides one when we travel. I bought the expert, lightly used, while waiting for my pro and ended up keeping both. I also have a couple of Shimano bike but I'll be selling those. Forrestal Siryon. Bought...

Levo Gen 3 Brake Upgrade? 2022 Turbo Levo Pro

Changed my Levo Pro brakes to XTR 4pots. So much better! Hoses are fully channeled So a simple job. New hose just slides through without dropping motor or any faffing around. I threaded the new rear hose from the rear of the bike using a hose plug and then did a bleed at the lever end. Using...

Wife wants to buy me a GoPro for Christmas, but which one?

Do you need 4K? I have a bunch of action cams but the one that gets the most use by FAR is my Insta360 Go2. Get the 64GB variant. My second most used one is a 360 x3. Don't remember which drawer my GoPros are in. Gordon

    2.8 down to 2.6 tyre

I've settled on a Assegai Exo+ 2.5 on the front and a DHRII DD 2.4 or Agressor DD 2.5 on the rear for all my bikes and really like this combo. Not vast quantities of wet trails around here though.... Well, there are but they're all shut as our local trails are not designed to handle the record...

    2.8 down to 2.6 tyre

On my original Merida e160 dropping from the stock 2.8's (front and rear) to 2.6's made a huge difference. Mainly that the rear tyre didn't feel like the side wall was going to collapse every time you loaded it. I really didn't like the wallowy feeling of the plus tyre. The difference was stark...

what happens if your display breaks?

Contact your LBS or Bulls. Likely Brose or Bulls keeps spares and also likely not enough demand for them to be anything but a special order item. Why would a shop keep something on the shelf that they sell only a couple a year of? You'll be able to get one. Just not overnight. Gordon

Forestal Siryon 2021 Edition One - Owners Thread

I haven't had a Kenevo SL next to my Siryon but I have next to my eZesty. The eZesty had more power than the Levo SL and my Siryon is more powerful again. I've ridden it next to an EP8 and been OK. Couldn't do that with the eZesty or Specialized. Ride is personal but I like the Siryon, a lot...

    Shimano SC-EM800 or Garmin

You'll lose the ability to change between the two profile settings modes (not powers settings via the rocker switch. they'll be normal.) on the fly. You'll need to pull your phone out for that. But not all Garmins will connect to the sTEPS system, so double check your computer is fully...

Apple Air Tag . . . How do I locate a swiped bike?

My inclination would be to put the tag somewhere really difficult to remove, like glued inside the frame somewhere. Maybe they'd dump it not knowing how to get the tag out. And it'd give a bit more time before they can strip the bike completely. Sure I couldn't put a new battery in but it's not...
