An update on this topic would be great... the range extender seems very pricey for what it is... I have to believe you could make your own extender with the proper voltage and adapter cord?? but I make this statement with very close to zero understanding of what is required for a safe, reliable...
I sold my analog (Kona 153) bike as the geometry was just too close to the Rise (modified 150/150) and then bought a new analog that was lighter (Norco Fluid) faster tires, etc.
I would personally push you to the Rise without a doubt but Frankyspec is right, you should find a place that can broker you actually getting on a Rise first… call a dealer who sells them and ask them if they have sold one to anybody or if their Orbea sales rep can be at the shop with one for...
You have a great bike! I have the 2020 version… I only charge it when I get below 30% and sometimes that can be a couple short rides… my battery is still very healthy… I leave it on the charger no more than 5 hours and it has always charged up fully before then.
My 5th wheel has a class III hitch and I put a bike rack in it for transportation and we have 2 bedrooms so the bikes go in the 2nd bedroom when we set up camp anywhere… here in the states I use T-Mobile home internet if where we camp does not have WiFi
Ever since I did this a few years back I have been wearing the TLD Stage.. it fits great, comes with three sets of pads to fit just right and you can purchase replacement parts for the liners… and I am turning 60 this year
Like everything, it depends… I do a lot of my riding with my wife so if I were to ride hers she would not be riding with me… but I had a time when mine was down for warranty work and I rode my analog while she road her ebike in eco/trail mode.. prices are always lower at year end… the only risk...
Just like cars… if you like your bike keep maintaining it… I self maintain for almost everything so it makes it cheaper that way for sure.
There is always aftermarket for batteries btw.
If you find a great deal on a new one and can afford to keep both then do that too! If the market ever gets...
The dealer I purchased my M10 from is no longer an Orbea dealer but I live too far away anyway... I looked up on Orbea' website who my local dealer was and went to them when the crank arm shaft on the motor broke off. As my bike was registered with orbea and they were a dealer it was smooth...
I had very good response from Orbea when my crank arm shaft broke off… total down time was less than a month and maybe it was 3 weeks. That was with my LBS which was not where I purchased the bike as well. And warranty pets were shipping directly from Orbea in Spain to me in the US as a part of...
