    Rail speed sensor...

Thanks for that detailed reply... 👍 I managed to route the new sensor cable without dropping the motor. The pain in the butt was having to cut and remove the rear brake hose completely from the frame so that there was room to feed the grey connector through the chainstay access holes, no way it...

    Rail speed sensor...

Yeah, I clean the magnet regularly. Fiynd the cause anyway. Sensor wire was broken where it enters the motor area of the frame after it leaves the chainstay. They must have pinched it when I had my motor replaced a few months ago and its just been flexing with the linkage and finally gave up...

    Rail speed sensor...

I think the main hassle is going to be cutting the rear brake hose and removing the whole caliper and hose from the frame bsfore I can remove and replace the sensor. There's no room for the grey connector on the end of the sensor wire to fit through the chainstay holes with the hydraulic hose...

    Rail speed sensor...

Hi there, I've been having erratic speed readings and random stuttering lately so I've ordered a new speed sensor in advance if it finally packing up. 503 error showed its face yesterday so I'm preparing to install the new sensor and cable. Anyone else done it..? It looks like it's going to be...

Purion display dead, won't switch on... :(

Hi, we've had a pair of 2021Trek Rails for coming up to a year now. Great bikes and love riding them... But we've had no end of issues with Bosch gen4 motors in them... It started off with a couple of 504 errors each, which we rode out, annoying, but easily fixed. Then within a month or so of...

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

I thought the sag was ok'ish, but it's uses all the travel on a flattish, pumpy, rooty section. But I haven't actually noticed any harsh bottom outs though, even on some 4-5ft drops.... ?

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

It was new/hardly used from Ebay. Have you decided yet, whether it was a worthy upgrade from a linear spring..? Or do you just like tinkering like I do... ?

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

Just fitted the Jade X to mine, 230 x 60, with the 400lb spring that came with it, it's bit soft I think. Which make progressive coil did you go with and what size did you go for.? I don't mean spring rate.

    Shock mounting hardware

Hi, I'm preparing to swap the mounting hardware from the original Rockshox Deluxe shock onto my new DVO Jade X. What's the best way to remove the steel spacers / pins...? I've got a tool to remove the bushings but can't see an easy way to remove these. I've pushed the larger one so far with a...

    It's the Dvo Jade X I'm looking at, don't think I can afford two Fox DHX2's... ?

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

Thanks for the replies. I'm sure I've also read somewhere that I can use the original mounting hardware from the Rockshox Deluxe on my Rail 5 too...?

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

I've been offered a Jade X 230 x 65... Is it the same as a 230 x 57.5 or 60 just with no spring clips...? Therefore easily reduced with them too..?

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

I'm planning on fitting Jade X 's to our medium Rails but I'm undecided to go with the normal springs or pay more for the progressive ones... Did you notice much improvement..?

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

Cheers guys. Yeah, I understand about weighting the bike, the geometry is pretty similar to my Megatower, Rail is a bit longer, but it feels the same. The trails are so wet and slick at the moment, I think they're are a handful on any bike to be honest. I think I'll try the 2.6 E Wilds, if I...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

I'm trying to work out which is the best option for the front of our new Trek Rails. This is my first emtb coming from a SC Megatower. I'm having trouble with front end grip on the steep, muddy, slippy Welsh off piste trails we've built. No problem on the Megatower with Michelin 2.4 Wild...

New Rail 5's and cable routing.

They were only 130mm droppers on our medium Rail 5's, way too short. I've swapped them out for 180mm and 210mm Oneup Components droppers, so we can get the saddles right down and out the way.

    Cable and lead routing

How did you manage to snap that off..? Not by just taking the motor in and out I hope... ?? I'm going to have to tackle mine this afternoon, I pulled the shifter cable out and it's kinked in several places again... ? Now I can't even push the new one back through... ? Thanks for the reply...

    Cable and lead routing

Can I ask how you Can I ask how you secured the cables at the top of the battery bay..? Just supported by the battery mounts...? I'm about to upgrade the brakes on our two Rails, so I'm dropping the motors and may as well sort the routing out the best way possible whilst I'm at it. The...
