They will lock-in (a substantial part) of their margin when they place their orders for frames/components for a specific production batch since they want to focus on selling bikes instead of watching fx markets.
Interesting, luckely the Chinese holiday season just started... few weeks to find out what the firmware does to the motor performance!
Are we (as DIY-ers) able to get the firmware updates and update via BESST tool?
My impression is from what I have seen in posts here, bafang facebook groups and a.o. the endless sphere forum. (Rob, Patdam, Wayne, Hans etc) but there must be hundreds of cyclist that do not have these problems. :D

I am seriously considering a DIY project for about half a year and are now leaning towards Bafang m500 (legal in EU) build. Lightbicyle or DengFu frames are currently in my shortlist.
Might consider a m600 but for the moment still...
Re other battery options for DengFu e10:
DengFu is currently quoting a Battery 48V 17Ah 816Wh for the E10, with M500/600. They do not have a 840 as per a recent mail.
