Levo Gen 2 I hurt my 2021 Levo (paint chip, my fault)

Mountain bikes are bound to get damaged. That’s a fact of life. You can always sandblast and powder coat once the bike is thrashed (if aluminum) but the quicker you give up on keeping it perfect, the more of your sanity remains. I don’t deal with invisiframe either, waste of money in my opinion...

    Is OFF the new ECO?

If you are riding In “off” you need to hit some mountains. That would end this topic right away. It’s called a “mountain” bike for a reason

    Is OFF the new ECO?

The only time I ride in off is on pavement with my kids. Perfectly acceptable that way. All my rides are big climbs, over 2000ft elevation weekend 4000ft. No way it’s doable in off. I have Cush core inserts and run the tires low for grip. I consider eco in my case equivalent to a gravel carbon...

ADVOCACY for higher MAX SYSTEM WEIGHT. What is MSW ??

Let the market decide! I was 120kg when I started biking and now I’m 93kg (it sounds much more dramatic in lbs). If there is a demand from heavy riders, the manufacturers will respond. I hate the idea of frames being overbuilt because few heavy riders demanding it. If you are too heavy and...

    Heart rate monitor/Bluetooth connect

I just use Garmin excellent fenix 6 that provides all the data. I do have polar HR chest strap but I hate wearing it. You learn to know where your heart rate is based on how hard you are working. I like the watch a lot as it records everything and then auto uploads to Strava. It’s very easy to...

    Rim tape for my Haibike

Gorilla tape here too. The nice thing about gorilla tape is you can make it work at any width as it rips linear! I just start a small rip that fits my rim and keep wrapping/ripping. I know some guys cut the roll but that can cause the tape to retain the cut next time you are in dire need for...

    Pic of the Day

We get snow above 5000ft. Sometimes lower than that but it doesn’t last long. Winters are mild (not sure you can call them winters). I grew up in Europe, in snow, and this is plenty of snow for me. If I want to see it, I drive up to the mountains or turn on the iPad. I love shorts/tea year round,,,,

    Pic of the Day

yes that is more preferable than cold and snow. Much easier on these old eyes. That is the beauty of living in California. Yes we have whacky trends and politics but you can go from biking in mountains in snow to biking at the beach and seeing,,,,,that!

Post your Haibike eMTB pics here!

Everyone posts that their bike is the best, so I won’t stray, my bike is the best of the bunch. Single track slayer. Spring front back, Cush core, this bike eats drops and rocks for lunch. Now if I could only get the rear tire to stop leaking,,,,,

Magura MT7 brakes - The good the bad and the ugly

Jag wire semi metallic. The braking is good but they are definitely noisier than stock organics. I actually don’t mind the noise as it Alerts the hikers I’m going up behind them. Any water on them and they sound like flock of geese ready to take off

Magura MT7 brakes - The good the bad and the ugly

Modulation is excellent as is expected. With hc3 I for the bling factor (important) plus I was really able to tune the position since it is a one finger brake and needs to be comfortable. I do a lot of single track, dragging brakes, hard breaking etc. my fingers are always one the lever.

    Pic of the Day

ahhh man I don’t miss snow. I grew up in Europe but just looking at that I had enough. Went out for a night ride in LA, 26C, feels like summer outside. We had some snow on the mountains but it quickly melted. This winter has been very warm.

Magura MT7 brakes - The good the bad and the ugly

center the calipers carefully and there will be no noise coming from the pads. I did upgrade to hc3 levers and love them. One finger stopping power that could stop a locomotive. No issues with fade, no overheating. Tons of modulation as others have mentioned, very similar to motorcycle brakes. i...

Magura MT7 brakes - The good the bad and the ugly

I spent a good amount of time messing with my mt7. They are amazing brakes. I crashed my bike many times and levers are fine, I was worried about the plastic master cylinder but no issues there. The initial install was fine, just follow instructions. I had a leak in the rear hose and eventually...

Levo Gen 2 I hurt my 2021 Levo (paint chip, my fault)

My bike is 7 months old, I would need a gallon of paint to touch up all the scratches,,,,, granite is hard on painted frames. I’m actually digging it. I figured in a year to strip it and powder coat. For now it’s battle scars.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

That’s funny. I actually kind of get to a point where I say “Ok that looks good, I’m done” I then move onto something else and the cycle repeats itself. I did the exact same with my gs1250 and ktm690. Before that Aprilia, before that Ducati....on and on and on. packages arive and wife says “...

Haibike owners, would you buy Haibike for your next bike?

All mountain 6.0, no issues here. i wouldnt be so hung up on brands. The frame is Taiwanese on all these bikes build to the manufacturers specs and all commercially available components are bolted on. Really haibike designed the frame and bolted all the crap on. Customize this and that is all...
