Mine didn’t fail, per se. However the rebound adjuster done virtually nothing and it was pretty fast regardless of setting. It also sank into its sag way too easily meaning I had to run much higher pressures, and therefore ideally needed more rebound damping. When you add the two together it...
The canyon system has a mount at the top of the downtube and also the bottom of the downtube, both of which are secured with bolts. I don’t understand why you can’t just take the actual Bosch rail and tap holes to match the Canyon fitment. Or create a very similar Canyon version which bolts...
I’m bang on 6 foot and have a medium. For me it’s the perfect size. My advice would be to forget about the size label and go for the reach measurement you are accustomed to.
I had problems with my X2 right from day one; rebound not functioning correctly (too fast and adjusters made little difference) and sank into its sag way too easily which meant I was having to use way higher pressures to get correct sag. Contacted Silverfish and they said there’s been a bad...
Yeah, approx every 20psi I cycle the shock through it’s travel to equalise. I’ve even removed all air and started from scratch to be on the safe side.
How much sag are you getting at 205psi?
Those who have the CFR with the Fox X2 Performance shock, how are you finding setup?
For my weight (90kg), the Canyon app suggests 199psi which then gives me a sag of 37%. If I increase pressure to 240psi I’m still at 32% sag.
I’ve found the settings for the Fox 38 forks to be bang on what...
I had the complete opposite opinion and was very impressed by them. I was coming from Magura MT7s on my previous bike and although the modulation of the XTs might not be quite as good, I found them to be equally powerful when setup right. Maybe worth a bleed and check the pads are not glazed over?
Took mine out for its first proper ride yesterday and I’m very impressed with it. Only ‘fault’ is a horrendous squeaking noise which I’ve isolated to the headset / internal cable routing. The slightest turn of the handlebars sounds like a squeegee. Will disassemble and regrease the area and...
My strive arrived last week and I’ve decided on a proactive approach towards the latch problem many people are having. I’ve gone for the following:
1. Two pieces of m4 threaded bar secured in place with JB Weld to provide additional support to the ‘tabs’ which keep breaking for others.
2. A...
Is there opportunity to kill two birds with one stone and use a spare innertube inside the bashguard to provide some support to the battery? [emoji848]
I think the Bosch rail for a horizontal 750 powertube is about £15. If it would fit, then it could be a cheaper and more robust alternative that regularly replacing the latch.
So from what I can see, they have ‘sandwiched’ a Bosch battery (and latch) between a Bosch terminal / connector block and a Canyon mount
I’m not an engineer, but I would imagine that any flex in the downtube would cause the distance between the two connecting points to expand and contract and...
That makes perfect sense. It seems that other manufacturers have the battery ‘resting’ on the rail which makes perfect sense for an almost 5kg component, whereas Canyon have chosen to have the battery directly on the downtube and secured either end by the connector block and latch. In the case...
I got my dispatch email from Canyon on Tuesday with the UPS tracking number. I checked tracking today (Thursday) and there are still no updates, just says ‘label created’.
Is anyone based in the UK able to say how long it took for their bike to arrive via UPS after they got the shipping email?
You probably did have them at one point, they just broke away without you knowing it. Might even have been before you left the shop. Like I said in previous post, the mechanic said one broke off when he was fitting and bleeding. Super fragile.
Sounds like a bleed issue and some air in the system, they are quite tricky to do.
Once mine were properly setup they have a good solid feel, good modulation and amazing stopping power. Total lever throw is about 50%, if yours are pulling much further towards the bars then maybe do another...
