I think it's reasonable to ask for an update to the current status since Roman (and others) from TQ said a software update should be avail by the end of the year (2022).
@Roman Please update the current status of the update that is supposed to fix/improve the motor grinding issues on the TQ motor. Supposed to be avail by end of year (2022)
Full disclosure, I checked with YT USA and asked if the Decoy could be ridden without the battery installed. Here's his response:

To seal against dirt and water it does not do as good of a job as this neoprene seal (or electrical tape) but that is not what the cover was intended to do.

I'm on a Decoy comp (mullet) and it smashes the descents. Surprisingly stable, at jumps and in corners. I imagine the shred mullet will be similar if not better. Dunno how the 29 rides in comparison but I have one on order! ;)
Yes the stock acros headset bearings can be repacked. Mine started creaking pretty badly so I re-packed and all was good. You need to carefully pick off the plastic retainer to get to the bearings.
