Just hit 5000miles today on the bike, which seems high, but got me thinking there must be a few who have done mega miles by now. Taking the bike to really mean 'frame' as I'm already on the second motor!
Leaderboard added below for bike mileage and column added for number of motors if provided...
What do you call the little rubber plug some bikes have in the stem cap bolt? Mine had one which finished it off nicely, but I've now managed to lose it.
Anyone know where to get one? I can't even find a picture to show what I'm talking about!
Looking to venture a bit further afield later in the summer, but with some people on non EMtbs. Are ther any other places in the UK similar to BPW where they have some good flow trails and an uplift?
For some reason I really struggle to find info on where the good places are around the UK. The...

I tend to be pretty good and do a lower leg & air can service every 50hrs of riding time (although I don't change the seals each time on the shock if they look in good condition). I do tend to push the 200hr service to 309hrs though, but a lot of my riding is on bridleways during the week when I...
My bike came with a TranzX 130mm dropper post on it, which I've fairly regularly stripped, cleaned and regressed but the top wiper seal has now seen better days and the bushings could also probably do with a replacement. I've had a look for service kits, but can't seem to find one. The best I...
I seem to be on a bit of a spending spree at the moment. Next purchase is a tool for replacing bearings.
Anyone have some reccomendations? After something which can remove and replace headset, wheel and suspension linkages. I've seen some kits on amazon for around £50, but some of the comments...
I'm approaching 50hrs on a Rockshox super deluxe shock, and according to the manufacturer it needs an aircan service. My last shock I just took apart, cleaned, regressed and reassembled. Rockshox reccomend replacing some of the seals as well every 50hrs.
Bike is used for occasional light...
In my quest to get a vaguely decent life out of chains, I've decided to have a go at hot waxing (the chain, not my nether regions). Knowing better than the manufacturer, I've been reusing the quick links. The bike also had some motor issues so the chain has been off a few times for that as...
My bike has been in for a warranty claim on the motor for the last month, and was told the other day the new one won't arrive for at least another month. Someone I know bought them selves a spare E8000 (new) motor off of ebay recently, and offered it to me to tide me over.
I've just tried...
Its finally happened - dead motor.
Having bought the bike online it wasn't realistic to take the bike back to the retailer, but I have found a local shimano service center who so far seem excellent. Took the bike in, they said they'd check the diagnostic and then send to shimano. Should be...
My bike currently has a suntor XCR air fork on it. It's fine for bridleways or some light downhill in the local woods, but after a day in a bike park my hands and arms are in bits.
I'm tempted to upgrade to a Rockshox Zeb (just the basic one), but thought it was worth checking first if I will...
I'm after a spare E7000 motor, but can't find any for sale online.
I spoke to my local Shimano center, and they said they could only sell me one if they also fitted it to the bike. Shimano's rules apparently (although not sure I quite believe that...)
Anyone know where I could get one?
I'm looking to get a second battery, and the prices are far cheaper if brought from outside the UK (bike inn etc). I'm a little worried about the warranty though. Does anyone have any experience of warranty work from non UK purchased parts?
Thanks!
I'm having problems setting my rear derailleur up. There's always a position on the cassette where it jumps 2 gears at a time. It shifts fine for the rest of the range. Its a 10sp shimano if that helps.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Looking towards the winter, I'm thinking of adding a front light powered from the motor. I've seen somewhere that it's a 6V output on the E7000? (But 12V on the E8000?)
Are the connections just behind the motor cover on the left side?
Anyone have any reccomendations of which light to go for?
