Same, my Mondraker came with a very similar mount that everyone complains about because it sticks out beyond the stem. I just flipped it around and voila...I think it's relatively safe from harm there.

Yeah, I changed the stem and bars a couple months back. That's a pic of the bike in its original form, shortly after I got it.

The battery is locked in place with a key. The power button is on the left side of the downtube.

I don't know...seems OK to me after one ride. I measure the HT angle at about 68 degrees. The front end is a bit on the short side, which works well for my proportions.
