Should I still be on here?

I am a bit younger than you ….but not much! I have asked myself the same question and have to be realistic about our aging and restrictions. Although I feel healthy and fit to ride I think we maybe a bit more vulnerable to injury than younger riders. I have downgraded my rides a bit and ride...

    Bosch Gen 4 cadence sensor

Has any one had a cadence sensor not working properly warning on a Bosch Gen 4 motor. The warning came up on the Purion 200 mid ride to check the Flo app. I restarted ……off on a couple of times and it stayed on. The power was down when the error was showing. Another reboot and wiped the magnet...

    Dealing with black ice

Those tyres look brilliant. I wouldn’t think twice if I was riding much in the ice. Thanks for the link.

    Dealing with black ice

Perbhaps removable mudguards. It won’t be muddy if it’s frozen! Not ideal but there maybe a workaround.

    Dealing with black ice

Sorry Auto socks. The AutoSock AS_HP_600E Winter Traction Aid is designed to provide excellent traction on icy roads, as mentioned in several customer reviews.

    Dealing with black ice

À company called Autosox developed in Norway make a fabric sleeve for car and truck tyres. They don’t make them for bikes but I wonder if the idea could be adapted for MTB’s.

I’ve had this on my wish list for a while…..or the same with a gauge is a bit more expensive.

    Tubeless repair kits

I’ve used Stan’s Dart tool kit once to seal a largish hole left by a nail I picked up. It’s a sort of umbrella shaped plug and is supposed to integrate with the sealant. It worked really well for the life of the tyre.

    Brake pads

It's looks pretty spic thanks for asking.....I often have to stop as people admire its cleanliness for a 3 year old bike :giggle:.....and thus the reason for wondering what had happened to this PURPLE Galfer pad. I have asked Galfer too.

    Brake pads

Thanks Paul...I think I will check and dry them after each ride but can't imagine doing that in my car ?

    Brake pads

Has anyone else had the pad fall off the backing ? I am using Purple Galfer on my Magura MT 5's and found them to have really good stopping power and better than the joined up ones.....but after the last ride I checked for wear and found the friction pad had delaminated from the backing plate...

    Whyte Dropper Post Removal

I have done it on the same bike. I used a barb and put grease on the cable and was very gentle and wiggled it through. No breathing during the process but it worked. …..but I have just installed a new version of the AXS and they are brilliant and just work….no fuss!

    Waterproof Jackets

Years ago I did some work for a company called Sympatex who also make a waterproof membrane but a different technology to Gortex. Lots of interesting tech stuff on their website which appears to say it maybe better than other membranes (well they would wouldn’t they). Not sure if it has the...

    Waterproof Jackets

Isn’t Gortex a separate waterproof membrane? I have seen it some years ago. It looks like nappy liner (maybe is!) and if you make a square of it into a ball in a cup and fill it with water it doesn’t leak. If you reverse it it lets some water out. I believe this is a different technology than...

    Waterproof Jackets

Yes I realise there is a compromise but the jacket I have is not even resistant……it surrenders if it sees a cloud!

    Waterproof Jackets

Thanks Steve. A great explanation and a real life endorsement of a jacket that works. I am surprised at the Endura as I thought it would be dry in really heavy rain but it hasn’t really handled a downpour and continuous drizzle. In both recent cases I wasn’t getting particularly hot or sweaty...
