Disaster so far, none of my men have made it through Q1. There is hope though, as they were in 21st, 22nd, 24th and 25th so I just need the entire field to come down the hill at exactly the same speed in Q2…

    Another Bosch Update Incomming?

I reckon that is a hub motor. The puddle ripple is bang on the rear wheel hub.

I think there is some synergy there with a potential sponsored rider. Imagine having Finn Iles on the Lidl team. He could bring the weekly specials to the pit set up. Welder anyone, or an automated golf ball cleaner, or how about an unbranded hedge trimmer. He’d be known as Finn Middle-Aisles.

Guided ride - Sherwood Pines, NCB area, & Vicar Water. Sun 28th Jun'26

This sounds fun, I’ve been to the Pines but never ridden there. Add me to the possibles/maybe list!

I was coming back from the Lakes on Sunday afternoon and passed loads of DH bikes heading south. Seems there was a SDA DH race at AE Forest. Was that one not on the radar, or just too damn far?

I don’t think the example you have provided is applicable as it’s a much smaller field. In the WC DH finals there are 15 women entrants and 30 men. The average finish times are 3:45 and 4:00 mins respectively. Even setting off with no holdups when the previous starter finishes, that is over...

Guided ride - Sherwood Pines, NCB area, & Vicar Water. Sun 28th Jun'26

I was at Whinlatter on Sunday, my first time there. Absolutely happy to pay the parking charge to go towards a facility I will use. I cannot fathom the logic or downright entitlement of some people who try to dodge parking fees when they are depriving the very facility they are using of funds...

Bosch gen 5 charger socket cover.

Thanks for the links. I’ve just put a warranty claim in with Canyon and cited that PinkBike article. I’ll see how that plays out but it’s not going to stop it happening again even if they do replace it. I suspect that due to the awfully steep and rocky trails around the Lakes, that my body and...

    DH World Cup thread

Well I didn’t fair too badly despite my absence. So that might be an omen for the next round when I’m on holiday again over the practice sessions, qualies and races. I see PinkBike have also changed the pricing structure so it’s going to be a little trickier from here on in to get a team of...

Bosch gen 5 charger socket cover.

Interesting thread this, and I’m also now a member of the charging port cover detachment club!!! After a ride in the nadgery lakes with the range extender, I heard my cranks glancing the charging port cover. I tried to adjust it to keep it out of the way but to no avail, and one side of the...

Support of Kiox 300 broken - looking for a spare.

It looks like a standard GoPro style fitting. Maybe a GoPro handlebar mount would work as a fix?

Looking at Dakotan Norton and checking his form on the official UCI website, can’t decide to put him in either the men’s or women’s team……

I’ve set my team now in advance of going away. The only one I might have to sneak a review of is my wild card to use my remaining £180k balance.

    Nice bike that.

I’m going to add a disclaimer right now, that I’m away from Friday and won’t be able to tinker with my team after timed practice results. So I’m forced to choose now, and be damned.

    Loose crank bosch ebike

I’ve just changed the cranks on a Bosch SX system and the recommended torque is 52Nm. It sounds “a lot”, but when you use a torque wrench is quite manageable, but also feels “a lot”. Shouldn’t need any sort of thread lock if it’s torqued up correctly.

What did you do to your EBike this week?

First ride out on 155mm cranks today from the stock 170mm. Night and day difference for pedal strikes. None suffered on a particularly section of rocky trail which normally has me clipping and striking rocks. No difference in pedal feel that I can tell.

Shorter cranks for a Bosch SX system. Which offset will be compatible, and general sense check!

First test ride out today with the X0 155mm cranks. The riding didn’t feel noticeably different but there was definitely fewer pedal strikes, even none that I could notice. Went across my usual rocky moonscape route to check and all good. Definitely a worthy upgrade.
