I think we're for sure going to see more stringent anti-tamper software/hardware as the onus is very much on manufacturers and suppliers to proactively block those trying to derestrict Ebikes.

It’s not a dust cap it’s a preload cap to pull the arm on which is then secured with the pinch bolts. There was a recent topic on this. Increase the preload with an alu cap and increase the torque on the pinch bolts and check pre and post every ride.

I’m a real hard tail fan but unless you’re really just doing gentle fire roads and canal paths etc (in which case a Levo is maybe overkill) a FS EMTB makes a lot more sense.

The new Hope Fortus are a great buy - the 30 model has the DH type reinforced rims but the 35 is another option without the extra weight. Be sure to spec the steel freehub body not alu.
