I regularly ride my ep801 with the assistance turned off on regular mountain bike trails with hill climbs. The longest I've gone is ~7 miles, I don't really buy the motor having excessive drag that you're claiming. Is it harder to pedal then my 26inch camber pro? Yes, but it's double the weight...

More powerful motor equals more battery used. Everyone wants 1500 watts and 250nm, but batteries will be 30lbs to get you 20 miles...

Then the manufacturers need to stop saying the peak watts and just say the nominal then. That'll stop all this BS right now, the most powerful motor currently is 250 watts, no one is close to the limit.

In the USA, I believe class 1 e-bikes are limited to 750w max already. I figured that's why the industry went with that number. Anything above that would be illegal on most MTB trails, except Arkansas!

Bikes online has a very good selection of tools for beginners, also throw the stock pedals in the trash and buy a quality set. Personally I run the spd/flat combo.

The knobbies look really good for that milage, my tires don't look that good at 100 miles 😂. Sealants have a shelf life, make sure you're not using from an old bottle. I've found the best way to stop this is put a tube in it, then just simple tire slime in the tube. Works great 👍.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you're wanting to ride 20+ miles in boost, just buy a dirt bike. We need more crossover to increase the amount of single track trails we have on the motorcycle side.

If you're riding mostly soft terrain dirt, sand, silt, mix of smaller rocks I'd say the shredda, if the hard pack with large rocks the Alberts would probably be better.

So first post you said 20km in eco, now you're saying 24km in trail? I think you need to pedal harder and rely on the motor less 😂. I get better wh/km on my ep801 than you do on your Bosch.

The only times my motor stops is if I hit the speed limiter, or stop pedaling with carryover turned off. Have you tried setting the carryover to max and see how it goes?
