    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

It seems like many Slash+ owners have experienced this, but nobody agrees on the cause. My hunch is that the "linear" shock setting is closer to digressive. People are reporting this with different drive trains and shocks, so that reduces the variables other than the frame. In my case, it also...

Yeah weird, that should be silent! Diagnostic check- is the chain still tight in smallest cog? wondering if the transmission b-tension needs to be reset.

VHS Slapper tape makes a big difference. Much quieter than the stock stuff. Strictly on chain noise: I'm on transmission and there is really no noticeable chain noise- this is about the quietest bike I've ever owned. I can't say if Shimano might have more slaps. I don't think a sidekick will...

What you want improved on your next SL e-bike

Did a 3000' ride with a friend recently, me on a Slash+ (580wh) and him on a Forbidden Druid-E (800wh). Guess what, we used the same battery %! I don't think either of us were surprised. Much of the climb was conversational pace (pretty much max for my Slash+ with thermal limiting). Of course I...

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

Hey Slash'ers Jank Components (Eric Olsen) is now offering a much sturdier replacement taco/bashguards for the Slash+. I can guarantee they fit. They don't have the void that cracks easily like the stock ones, and they are much thicker too. You may recognize Eric from Pinkbike Academy, or...

Those who do bike parks or like to hit jumps

Needs to be an ASTM rating for rear hubs. Seems to be a first point of failure on many meatbikes- broken axles and failed freehubs. There are some seriously garbage OE hubs out there (Raceface Trace). Might not result in serious injury, but you get a long walk out and a choice between buying a...

What is your range in vertikal Meters in a trek slash plus? I only get 1000m vertical

Yeah, hard to say. When I first got mine (year+ ago) 1370m was no problem and I had battery left at the end. But these days it feels like I'm getting less range. Having been on TQ bikes for 4+ years now, I haven't really seen range degrade, so I suspect it's more about how I am using the bike...

What is your range in vertikal Meters in a trek slash plus? I only get 1000m vertical

Hey Moodle- I've consistently gotten 4500' out of mine (1371m) with battery left, but have also killed the battery at 1000m a few times, if it was very cold/hot or I was using boost the whole time and climbing technical trail. There's no doubt in my mind that the motor is most efficient in...

That is a tough one! I just had my Vivid & Zeb fully rebuilt. When I took it in, I said I might like a firmer compression tune on the Vivid. The shop suggested they should open it up first... ~10 months of riding and the oil was dark grey. I had the Zeb damper upgraded to a 3.1 (just new...

    Advice needed! Torn between Rail+ & Fuel+

    I hate their website! With the 580wh battery in the Fuel+, looks like 7.38lbs weight difference. Trek Rail+ 9.7: 52.32lbs Fuel+ 9.7: 44.94lbs

    Advice needed! Torn between Rail+ & Fuel+

Maybe I've missed something - according to Trek's website the weight difference between a Fuel+ and a Rail+ with the similar parts, is around 10lbs.

100%. The vivid air with no spacers in the linear setting is just too linear for 30% sag to work. But that's a very common starting point. Easily fixed!

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

Seems semantics to argue if they're different/similar. They are similar is used similarly. The removable/modular battery options are a big advantage for TQ bikes, but an advantage many won't use or care about.

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

Did you happen to compress the suspension with the 29" wheel and shock removed? (of course, you'd have to measure to figure out where the shock would actually bottom out) I've noticed this bike can bottom out pretty violently. Not a problem with proper shock tuning, clearance checks and gentle...

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

@mike172 glad you got it sorted! For a while I had a Norco with a shimano motor. It would throw error codes and die.... I learned the fix was cleaning all the wiring connections with electrical cleaner, then a little bit of dialectric grease. I haven't had issues with my TQ stuff, but I still...

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

Have you tried plugging the charger directly into the battery? That would eliminate the TCU, port & wiring/ connections as sources of the problem. If that doesn't resolve it, I'd think you're looking at a battery firmware update or warranty (hopefully)

Will TQ eventually make a motor with more than 60 Nm?

Perhaps TQ will- no objections here. However, I think they'd need a heavier/larger battery to get acceptable range with more torque/power- at which point they'd be competing directly with DJI & Botsch. What would differentiate TQ? IMO it'd be far more compelling, if they came out with...

Other Trek emtb release Friday 13th

That is only true for retrofitting a HPR60 on to earlier Slash+ models. And likely only a policy to prop up sales.... otherwise it'd be less expensive to buy an Older Slash+ and retrofit the new motor. 2026 Slash+ has the full power HPR60 with fins intact. But you could be right about a...

Other Gen 2 Trek Fuel + (EXE) Official thread.

Across many bikes, I've had good success with this formula: rider weight (lbs) x Leverage ratio = spring rate (round up) You can calculate the (generalized) leverage ratio by diving the travel by the shock stroke. So 160mm / 65mm= 2.46 176lbs x 2.46=432.96 So I'd start with a 450lb spring. But...
