    Nbd...Whyte ELyte EVO RS

Just bought the above and had my first ride on it so thought I would give some feedback. I am 6ft (183 cm) and I am about 70kg rider weight kitted up and the bike is size large. Firstly in terms of aesthetics the bike is immaculate and very eye catching in a gloss aquamarine and black colour...

    Lost that stupid circlip?

Everytime I remove brake pads for inspection and cleaning I risk losing the stupid little circlip fitted to the end of the pad securing pin! Good luck trying to source a replacement! My brakes are SRAM code RSC and Maven but most callipers use the same arrangement to secure the pads. I found one...

    Who needs a van?

There is no doubt the easiest and safest way to transport a few EMTBs is with a good van! If that is something you are considering i am selling mine. I have decided this year may be the right time to sell my van but I have no idea how much I should advertise it for!! It is a T5 Shuttle 2.5 TDI...

    I have become a roadie!

Not really, but offroad conditions are either flooded or knee deep in mud...or both....but I really do not want to leave my bikes unused for so long. So in rotation I have been partially charging up one of the bikes and then just doing a 45 minute 8/9 mile road loop. Good idea??

KS Rage Circuit Wireless Dropper post

I have a 2022 Whyte e160 RSX and the dropper post probably needs a new cartridge. It still works but takes a couple of seconds to lock out when slammed. I suspect the motor needs to be dropped to service it so to avoid that bother I am thinking of just replacing it with a wireless dropper. The...

    my crash injury (for info)

I thought I would share some info a bout my latest crash and the injury that resulted ......simply because it was different!! It happened on a downhill forest run.....fairly narrow and just approaching a left hand curve. My right bar grip just clipped a tree but it was enough to steer me right...

Levo Gen 3 How to silence a SWAT tool

I have a gen 3 Levo Comp Ally only a few months old. Virtually from the start I have clicks and rattles from the headset area. I had previously checked the preload but that made no difference and in any case I could detect no movement to suggest that was the problem. So this time I took a closer...

    Climbing

I thought I would share some thoughts on climbing technique. I know there has been a lot of apparent enthusiasm for more power and its effect on climbs but here I not talking about long gradual climbs whether on single track or gravel/fireroads but rather short but very steep climbs with roots...

    Trail v Enduro

My main ride is a 2024 Whyte E160RSX which will cope with any terrain but I recently bought a 2025 ge3 Levo Comp Ally for less demanding country rides. So whilst the Whyte has performance Elite Fox 38 and Fox float, Sram AXS Transmission and Assegai/ DHR 11 tyre combo the Levo Comp is as it came...

Levo Gen 3 Help with Specialized app

I am using the Spech app ( the black one) connected to my 2025 gen 3 Levo Comp Alloy. On the Mastermind display you get 4 default screens and I would like to modify and/or add the screens just using the 2 box format. If I run the app not connected to my bike and I select the edit displays...

    My new bike

I decided this year to get a new bike. My requirements were pretty specific but I was was in the market at a time of significant hype about motor power and even more motor power with less overall bike weight. So do you go with a Bosch cx bike which is probably the most reliable motor...if so...

    New "EBike" Regulations in California

Looks like California has tightened regulations on "EBikes" in Senate Bill 1271 passed in September. It bans throttles on class 1 and class 3 bikes but allows throttles on Class 2 bikes...but only up to 20mph. Maximum motor power for all classes 750w. New battery certification regulations as well.

    SRAM Flat Top chains

I have SRAM Transmission obviously including a flat top chain. So how are you guys checking chain wear?? I have read conflicting information and some that makes little sense to me!! SRAM appear to recommend changing chain at 0.8% wear as tested with either a stupidly expensive SRAM chain...

    Yamaha withdraw in the US

It appears Yamaha have informed their US dealers that they are withdrawing from the emtb market at the end of 2024. There is no information about their activities in other international markets or indeed their supply of motors to brands like Giant and Haibike.

    German Auto Industry

Predictably the EU and UK auto industry in general is suffering largely due to ill considered Govt policies to force greater production of EVs etc. The German Auto industry seems more impacted than most with the real prospect of factory closures, and it is not just the car manufacturers but the...
