They changed the formula a number of years ago. No longer as effective unfortunately. I find Smidge quite effective, for midges at least.

UK Police seize & destroy legal e-bike

@Powerslider It's because of things like this that Police in the UK are cracking down on eMotos and derestricted eBikes: https://news.sky.com/story/teenage-e-bike-rider-jailed-for-over-six-years-for-killing-great-grandmother-at-zebra-crossing-13544225 Unfortunately "eBike" is catch all term.

UK Police seize & destroy legal e-bike

The nationality of the rider and their ability to speak English is completely irrelevant here. The testing method used by the police is flawed and they're in the wrong in this instance. You could lift the rear wheel of any bike and get it spinning faster than 15.5mph.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Replaced the standard insoles. I don't think there'd be room for both, plus may cause slippage.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

I did recently get some Ergon IP Pro Solestar insoles which have helped a bit, certainly with my leading foot.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Despite really liking them to begin with, I haven't been getting on well with my Burgtec Penthouse MK4 pedals lately (foot positioning issues leading to pain on long descents), so have just ordered some Deity Deftraps. Hopefully the larger platform will help, if not I'll look to replace my shoes...

Only been to Switzerland once, but it was dipping in for the day from French side when snowboarding in Avoriaz/PdS so didn't go into any towns. I'll see if my local cheese specialist has any good Swiss stuff.

Swiss cheese is pretty lame too though. At least the stuff you export. Super bland.

I'd normally agree there, but to be fair to him "woodshoe wearing cheesehead" did cause me to chuckle 😁

Back to Kirkhill today in the glorious sunshine. 25 miles and 3300ft of elevation. Bumped into two guys I'd never met before but ended up riding with them for a bit, which was cool.

Lovely 20 mile with a workmate tonight. Only one pic as too busy chatting.

I think it started because Orbea doesn't offer a Surron-mode for the new Avinox Wild. So its their fault really 💩

    Shimano EP8 "clack" sound question

Normal, its the clutch engaging and disengaging.

No MTBing today as my youngest daughter wanted to go out. We did 30 miles in total, with our usual mandatory ice cream stop at the beach.

That looks amazing @MOG :) I'd loved to spend a week or two riding in Wales.

    Deformed tire (Trek Rail+ 8 gen5)

I think Trek do swap out components if they have supply issues, but that usually applies to any 3rd party parts such as forks. Perhaps a bad batch? I had XR4s on my Roscoe but never felt confident on them so swapped them out for Schwalbes.

    Deformed tire (Trek Rail+ 8 gen5)

The 8 should come with Line Comp 30 wheels with the 108 rear hub, same as my Roscoe had. Definitely sounds like a bad build if the new one has been problem free. At least Trek were quick to help though.

    Deformed tire (Trek Rail+ 8 gen5)

What model Rail? I think the Rail+ 5 has lower spec wheels but on the 8 and above they should be decent, unless it's a bad build. I gave my Roscoe 9 hardtail some serious abuse and when I sold the bike the Bontrager Line Comp 30 rims were still like brand new, other than the odd scuff here and...
