The only problem with the metals ones is they don't soften the hit. The Amygos guard has a thin layer of foam to make the hit not as harsh. Ive seen people still crack their stock guards with the metal guards. Ive seen people hit the stock guard on the side with the metal guards and break it...

Everyone in my area runs bash guards... everyone. Come ride with me and I bet your stock guard will be broken in 1-2 rides. Sometimes a big rock will even flip up from the front tire and hit the downtube.

You've seen his videos and pics right? They look like someone raked and packed the trail in front of him. Ive always run the Amygos guard and 145mm or 155mm cranks. Our trails are a little rocky.

My buddy had that happen and then tried everything to keep them on. They just kept coming loose. He got Hopes and not a problem since.

We ended up carrying off and on the rest of the day. We also had to go under and over trees. The "flakes" melted last week as we got a few inches in the high country. No one hits these trails yet as its too much work but I dont mind. The remote lakes are full and no people.

Dang. I thought more ebikers used this. I cant live without one. It saves the butt on long steep climbs.
