    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

I've given this a fair amount of thought. IMO, the main distinction between e-motos and EMTBs really comes down to the throttle. It's throttle the disconnects you from power delivery, so in this way motos are similar to cars, unless your Fred Flintstone. With my first ebike (Leve 2nd gen)...

ECVT/MGU: The Great Belt vs. Chain Debate

I'm fairly certain this will be the case. Whether the preference for a particular bike ends up choosing the drivetrain (belt or chain) or the preference for a particular drivetrain ends up choosing the bike remains to seen.

Who actually wants more than 85nm and 400%

I second this motion. Now that I've used the M2S on my Rogue, I'm beyond spoiled, almost intoxicated by it. Most of my riding as of late is from my house, so the ability to shuttle quickly to trailhead is just huge. I drop to Class 1 at the trailhead, but here are those moments on some...

That PRI system is interesting in that it takes the major pain out of chain tensioner placement/fitting/adaptation in the mid-drive area. Not particularly found of anything that has two pulleys that reminding me of a derailleur, but not a bad shortcut strategy. How much does it weigh?

You mean like a belt version of a chain whip wrench? I believe Gates has one of those. If not, please elaborate.

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

While I'm a huge MGU/ECVT fan, what I hate to admit is a lots of folks, when counting weight differentials, fail to account for the added weight of the belt/chain tensioner and also the snubber if using a belt (but you can skip the snubber because belts are way lighter than chains). Some...

Intradrive Mid drive motor and 8 sp gearbox (EP8 mount)

Yet another example of why I prefer belts for MGUs/ECVTs - the chain tensioners end up looking just like derailleurs; the very look you want to avoid when going to a motor-transmission unit.

ECVT/MGU: The Great Belt vs. Chain Debate

OK, so here is my current weigh-in on the debate and here's where I currently stand (though I'm open to be swayed). I will use the criteria in the OP to weigh my take on this, but I must admit this take is based on a decade of belt-drive use on my full suspension MTB...

Bravo on your your project here! Not to mention the scope of it - you are taking the whole thing on, including trying to make e-shifting work outside of Bosch. Dealing with chain growth, tensioner choice and placement and mounting challenges, belt size selection, monkey bone integration, wheel...

Intradrive Mid drive motor and 8 sp gearbox (EP8 mount)

The best thing about this video is that we finally get a riding assessment of this motor. I tried to getting a ride demo at Sea Otter, but they blew me off because I wasn't a product manager. There was an air of desperation at the booth to get some bike brands locked in and I didn't blame them...

This is huge for M1 owners drifing toward warranty expiration. Where are you sourcing and are such parts in stock?

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

Wells there's the whole F1-CVT ban thing, but the glib answer is that you don't provide pedal power on these motorsports, nor are there hybrids in the bunch. As soon as you need multiple power sources to drive power delivery in an optimized way (you get to chose efficiency or power curves, power...

    Avinox M2s rattle

This is a non-starter if the motor is still under warranty. I'm all in on right to repair, and if (big if) Avinox ever gets the point where parts are at least as available as Bosch, then this avenue can be taken. Until such time, we are beholden to warranty service until this shakes out.

ECVT/MGU: The Great Belt vs. Chain Debate

I've used a belt on an MTB for some 10 years. It's the same belt. I've had sticks and small rocks get into teeth, but get shot out after a full rotation. I think what really helps is the CDX design - that center ridge keeps the larger rocks out. Never had a the belt bashed significantly so...

    Avinox M2s rattle

So where is the slop then? In the prior video he was moving the crank back and forth with the chainring not moving, showing tons of it right on the cranks. But your comments and other videos describe slop at the chainring (pulling the chain back and forth). There's the internal freewheel that...

    Avinox M2s rattle

MTBs that have concentric wheel paths have zero suspension activated kickback. But any bike with floating instant center will have chain growth, with some systems (e.g. HP) having less than others. What's often more the bigger culprit is not kickback, as much as chain whipping effects. As long...

So there are different brake boss lengths out there. Sounds like the the 203mm version was anomalous and the new baseline 200mm. If frame ordering, might be worth getting a 203mm rotor and adding spacers if it's actually 200mm than getting a 200mm rotor to find it unusable. Unless Velduro has...

    Avinox M2s rattle

Pound sand. Rigorously yanking the chain back provides enough tangential force to show slop. And with no rattle sound either. Besides, you talking like rattle/slop is the norm, not the exception with the M2S. Occam's Razor is to expect a motor that demonstrates no rattle/slop, based on its...
