I've a belt driven hardtail, non-ebike though and I must confess I replaced the belt with a chain. Fine dust causes the chain to "squeak" and hosing it "clean" does not help, you have to brush it clean. And it's waaaayyy more picky when it comes to tensioning the belt/chain. And if you f*ck up...

Newer shimano derailleurs have a mark showing the correct b tension. Just align your cassette with that mark and you're good to go.

Yearly inspection for my leased bike, new brake pads and a chain. Normally i do everything myself but this yearly inspection is mandatory. 150€ for parts and labor, luckily it’s included in my “subscription”.

Not this or even week before, but for gnarly trails I finally bought the Avs skid plate. And out of curiosity, I got the Ochain system. Could be placebo, but works for me 👍. I’m not recommending it to anyone, pricey bastard, but if you can test it, I encourage you to try it.

Maybe it’s the lacquer finish, maybe mine has a matte finish.

SL for hills, full power for mountains. Hardtail ok for paved roads.

Yoke and coil don’t mix too well, but since you’re anyway going to try, go for a shock with a thick shaft.

I replaced some parts: new deore derailleur, unfortunately xt didn’t survive the beating anymore. And while I was working on the bike, I installed Ochain chainring, I’m curious to see if it really makes a difference, especially on long descends.
